    as a general heads-up (and not to quell discussion), let me know if you have a problem with keeping the basketball-related parts of the article here, and take the OT stuff that the author's writing about to the OT forum. I'll start a parallel thread there.

    For instance, does it matter what Bryant yelled at the ref? I mean, if he yelled that the ref was a F***ing idiot, shouldn't that have been Technical #2? I mean, Duncan got tossed for laughing...isn't yelling at a guy showing him up, no matter what insensitive thing you yell?

    And that is why I don't want to play the L*kers. K*be can yell whatever he wants, treat the refs like garbage and break not only the letter but the spirit of the "respect for the game" rule, and there's NO WAY he's getting kicked out of a game.

    You can bet LaMarcus Aldridge or any other player in the Scarlet & Black would get sent to the lockerroom for saying that after getting a technical, and they should.

    Though I don't think that K*be would've called Bennett Salvatore or Steve Javie anything. He wouldn't have had to.

    Are we sure that's what he said? I can't tell definitively from the video. Regardless, Bryant should have been tossed, but Stern would never allow it.

    Even before the gay movement, this would have gotten him thrown out. These used to be considered fighting words, probably even worse than now. If I were the referee and I'd seen him mouthing that against me, there would have been a confrontation with me the winner one way or the other. It pisses me off and I wish he'd been bodily ejected.

    And get this--I usually hate Kobe less than most fans, and refs more than most.

    Actually, he should have received a second technical and been ejected before he made the fucking ***got comment. Punching a chair and throwing a towel both violate the "respect the game" rule. But, in addition to being ejected from that important game vs. the Spurs, a second technical would have been his 16th of the season and would have resulted in Kobe being suspended for tonight's game vs. the Kings. He could have actually received four technicals for his childish outburst (the initial technical, one for punching the chair, one for throwing the towel and one for calling the ref a fucking ***got), but it's Kobe and that will never happen. He's above the rules, especially late in the season with playoff seeding on the line.

    No, I'm fine if that's the general consensus. I just cant tell 100%, and it's an inflammatory charge. Somebody in the media should ask Kobe about it. I'd be interested in his answer.

    Rodger that, I also am not offended by the PC ness or lack there of, but rather the fact that anyone else would have been tossed from the court and suspended.
    Fucking Stern is going to sit on this just like last time and wait for it to blow over. What? He rescinded another tech? Tell me this shit is not fixed.

    What percentage of fouls rescinded this season have been to Laker or Celtic players? It seems like all of them, except about one to Orlando's Howard.

    Damn, don't do that. A flip flopper. Now I have to snap at him to make up for that and you know I hate snapping at PapaG. Learn to take pleasure in your work.
