The 34-year old has a career record of 26-5 with 22 knockouts and last fought at 164-lbs, a weight Nick Diaz can make without much effort. Someone would have to be willing to promote the event (Showtime, likely) and guarantee the guys enough of a payday to make it worthwhile. I'm sure they are each looking at seven-figures for the fight and whether or not that is tenable is hard to predict.
Nick Diaz to retire? I'm sure it is all talk, but...
Re: Nick Diaz signs to box Fernando Vargas in September/October I wonder how DFW feels about this? and if there is anything he can actually do about because I am sure Diaz's contract with SF is non exclusive.
Re: Update: Diaz vs. Vargas can't happen. Diaz vs. Lacy possible http://mmajunkie.com/news/23252/str...-contract-eyes-boxing-bout-with-jeff-lacy.mma Jeff Lacy (25-4, 17 KOs) is an active fighter but has lost three of four.
Re: Update: Diaz vs. Vargas can't happen. Diaz vs. Lacy possible Jeff lacy is massive compared to nick, isn't he!?
Re: Update: Diaz vs. Vargas can't happen. Diaz vs. Lacy possible No, he has fought between 158-174, much like Nick.
