Who are some players in the NBA today that remind you of some good players back in the past? I'm not going to think up of all the comparisons, because I want to see what are your comparisons. Kirk Hinrich HT: 6'3 WT: 190 Comparison to a player in the past: Mark PriceBoth players are/were very good playmakers, and are/were very consistent shooters. They each know/knew how to set up their teamates with easy plays, and they also can hit it from deep. Price was a very underrated guard back in the '80s, and Hinrich is often left out of discussion when we're talking about talent from the 2003 NBA Draft. Hinrich does not get mentioned often in the company of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and other players from that draft that are stars today. Amare Stoudemire HT: 6'10 WT: 245Comparison to a player in the past: Shawn Kemp Kemp and Amare are explosive with their dunks in the paint. Kemp eventually had a cocaine problem which led to a retirement in 2003. Rumors have it that Kemp may return to the NBA with a team like the Mavericks, despite being 36 years old. Both players really have no offensive game 15 feet away from the basket, although Amare has plenty of time adding a jumpshot at the age of 23. Both players are about the same size, too. Gilbert Arenas HT: 6'3 WT: 210Comparison to a player in the past: Jerry WestGilbert Arenas has unbelievable range. Not really known as a pass-first point guard, and Jerry West was the same type of player. West wasnt really known as a passer either, in fact, there was only one year in his NBA career where he averaged less than 20 ppg, and that was his rookie year. His nickname was "Mr. Clutch", how can anyone forget that half-court shot he made to send a game into OT? Gil has his clutch moments too, like that fadeaway jumper against the Bulls in the 1st round of the playoffs last year, game 5, to beat the Bulls and eventually go on to win the series. These two players are not exactly the same size, but they do play the same way of basketball, and they do play the same position.

LeBron James HT: 6'8 WT: 240Comparison to player in the past: Michael Jordan/Magic JohnsonLeBron James is a very young player to do so much at the age of just 21. Both LeBron and Michael has done a lot early in their careers and it looks like they are going to have a bright future coming through. Yet, Michael played for a slumped time in his first couple of years like LeBron.LBJ sort of plays like Magic Johnson with his ability to pass and create for others at the height of 6'8. Both players accomplished a lot during their 3 years early in their careers.

How do you see Lebron like MJ? I do not see Lebron winning two ring his career. Just because he likes Cleveland and will not go anywhere with them. Anyways. I don't even think he plays like Jordan. Jordan changed the NBA. People were afraid to play against him. People looked up to him. Lebron well, hasn't done anything yet to be looked up at. If anything Wade should get more regonigiton. He got a ring. And, he is leading a team with a help of a key player. Something like Jordan maybe?

I think the Wade and Jordan comparisons should really stop, hes only been in the league for three years and at this time Jordan was averaging 37 points per game. Wade still has 5 championships and 5 MVPs to go before we can all him MJ, maybe there style of play is similar but now it's not fair to say.I like the LeBron-Magic comparison, both were solid rebounders and passers and were very tall and play the point. LeBron is a forward but is basically the point guard of that team, LeBron still needs to learn to play some defense first. My comparison goes to Elton Brand and Charles Barkley. Despite the small height difference, they are only two pounds different and weight and play a simlar style. Both put up pretty close numbers and were really underrated at one point.

Other than both being good shooters and can play both guard spots there not that similar.

People will want to go to wherever Lebron is because they know if he is on their team, they are ALWAYS in the championship contention. With a very subpar supporting cast this year, he almost beat the Detroit Pistons. A team that in the two previous seasons won a championship, and made it to the championship. GREAT POINT THOUGH! :thumbdn1:

Something like Jordan maybe?</div>That whole paragraph was a biased paragraph. How has LeBron not changed the NBA? This kid is 20 f*cking years old and he's averaging over 30 pts a game!! That has to inspire some younger kids that dream about going to the NBA. Also, he took his Cavs team to 7 games against the Pistons. The so-called 'NBA Experts' thought that Cavs would lose in 5 games, most likely 4. You think players arent afraid to guard LeBron? You have to kidding me, he is unstoppable when he's driving to the basket. Combined with his speed and strength, there's a 95% chance that he'll get that basket. Wade just won a title yes, but he has Shaq. Big Z is 'Bron's big man, thats the guy LeBron has to work with. Who would you take? A big man that can still throw it down and can clog up the paint or a softie around the basket who throws up little hook shots? [IMG]
