This guy has been such a joke, from the Joe Smith incident to signing guys to bad contracts, bad drafting...etc...How this guy still has a job boggles my mind, he's ruined Kevin Garnett's career.

They should have fired him after he got rid of Cassell. He is trying to create another spree- cassell, and kg combo but it isn't going to happen. Actually he should have been fired after the Joe Smith thing because it was so stupid of him to do that. Now our team is crap because of him because we don't have those young players who have been in our system for a while. Get rid of McHale before Garnett.

I say that there is definately someone out there who is miles more qualified, so I say fire him before next season. But sadly Taylor will wait until McH retires.

I just cant believe he thinks that he'll get Kobe or LeBron in a deal for KG.

That is the whole point of saying it. He means "Garnett will not be traded unless you are offering one of these two guys" and that is all. If you can't understand that then god help you.

I think he should have been fired after the Joe Smith fiasco, if not by the leauge then the owners. Giving Joe Smith that kinda money is crazy. He has really done a horrible job, firing Flip, moron.

Yes. They need someone who will get some free agents and help out KG. If they sign Mike James however, I dont see him getting fired. That would be a great pickup for them, and they already added a great piece in Randall Foye.

Yeah McHale has done 1 thing right and thats draft KG, and by doing so has let him stay as the VP for a longer term then he deserves.

It's tough for me, as a die hard Celtic fan, to bash Kevin McHale. But I think he's overdone his stay in Minnesota. Sure, he drafted Kevin Garnett, but when he drafted him KG was not a guarenteed star. It was a gamble that just happened to work in his favor. He also was the man behind the whole Joe Smith scandal, no? He traded a fan favorite (Wally) for Ricky (good player), a soft center who doesn't try, and a free agent PG that won't re-sign. Sure, he got Randy Foye (who I guarentee will be a good player in this league) but getting Foye/KG is really the only thing he's done that the fans loved lol. I think it's time to go, and I think it's time for KG to go too. Blow up that team, trade KG for some promising youth and picks, and start over with someone else. Keep Casey as head coach though, he knows what he's doing.

The Guys a dumbass. He has made some of the stupidest decisions in the past 3 years he should of been out long ago. He was a dumbass to fire flip the year after they made it to the western confrence finals and they were having a down year so far. Lets see him take them there. He has ruined the wolves franchise and i dont see them making it back to the western confrence finals anytime soon as they lost theyre chance and now the west is becoming very tough.

i'd be cool with him if he just traded KG to boston. :)but seriously, yeah he's a pretty bad GM. I mean, the Ricky trade wasn't horrible for them, but Mark Blount is a menace in the lockerroom, and Banks is leaving. He's done a few things right, overshadowed by alot of things wrong. Firing flip was stupid, adn the whole Joe Smith thing. So yes, he should be fired.

The Joe Smith was more the owner (Glenn Taylor) then McHale. Taylor basically cost the team 7 years of developing players. McHale had only one option to build through FA. He couldn't use the 1st round picks or even trade them.McHale has made some questionable decisions in signing Hudson to his ridiculous contract and signing Olawokandi when he did. But I blame a lot of what has happened on Taylor.

He's got to go honestly. The guy has overdone his stay. He's putting a horrible team together and is getting no great help for KG. This team is going no where any time soon and he has just basically ruined KG's career.

The Timberwolves owner told Kevin McHale to "do what he has to do" and the only thing to do was to fire Flip Saunders. Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell were bitching and complaining about him to McHale and it was just an awful situation. Flip really did lose the respect of some of the players, namely Sprewell and Cassell. However, I think Casey is a better fit right now anyways.McHale gets a bad rep but a lot of the stuff is out of his control.

No. Right nows a bad time. They've had a good off-season> They drafted an electric player in Randy Foye who is a great scorer, and some more scoring help in Mike James. I could see Minny making the playoffs this year because now KG has some help on offense..

Yes, but they needed offense. And Mike James isnt too old. He's 30, isnt he? He can still score, and if they dont want him to shoot that much he wont. He is a roll player, he will do what the team asks him to do. In Detroit and Houston he was more conservitive then in Toronto. Just because in Toronto they needed him to score the ball, and that's what he did.And either way, they still picked up Foye. He scored a ton in Summer League, and was MVP. He is an electric player who is quick and good with the ball in his hands. He can shoot and score points, and play defense as well. He is a great player, and he will help Minny out next year. The Wolves are already a good defensive team, but now they got some offensive help, and it is possible for them to take the 3rd seed or a 7th or 8th seed in the West..

The Timberwolves took him over the much more popular Brandon Roye and Rudy Gay. Kevin McHale did his scouting and quite a few Wolves fans were ripping him for the pick. Before the draft, maybe people though Gay and Roy would go over Foye for sure. It's not like it was a no brainer.
