Great Players:1. Can take over games2. Can make others around them better3. Can make it easier for other players around them4. If teams prepare to stop that player more then the rest of the teamGreat players are: Lebron, Kobe, Iverson, Wade, Duncan, ect ......Good players are like players like: Marion

Great players:1. Can take over a game2. Makes teammates better3. Plays on BOTH ends of the floor4. Is a leader5. Elevates his game when his team means it most6. Have accomplished things in their careers (not necessarily a ring, but if you never are on a competing team you can't be considered a great player in my opinion)Great players in the league right now: Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Chris Webber (past C-Webb), and Alonzo Mourning.Good Players: Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce, Shawn Marion, Jermaine O'Neal, Dirk Nowitzki, Elton Brand, Sam Cassell, Vince Carter, Ray Allen, etc. - until they win a ring or compete for one while leading the team.LeBron is unbelivable, but hasn't accomplished anything winning wise yet. Give him time. Wade - same thing, even though he won a championship. You can't call someone great after 3 years in the league.

Everyone I mentioned is considered a great player (even if their prime is passed, they once were great players).

Also, I dont think Payton, Webber, or Mourning are great players right now. They used to be.

To be a great player though you don't have to have all those traits. Barely any players if any players in the history of the NBA has had all those traits. As long as you have most of those though I would consider that player great.

What makes one a good player, and what seperates players, is the ability to do many things. Not only shooting from the outside, but taking it in. Not only scoring 30, but getting 10 assists. That's why I love guys like DWade, Nash, LeBron, because they can do so much. Pass, rebound, score. Same with guys like Kobe, Paul Pierce, etc.

My point was you don't have to do all that to be great that's all. I mean if your a special player just by not going to practice you being great won't change of course.
QUOTE (KMart @ Jun 27 2006, 07:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

What makes one a good player, and what seperates players, is the ability to do many things. Not saying AI is better then Lebron just because AI averages more points, and assists wanna clear that up before people start bashing. lol I was just saying.
