Re: Marvin "Bad News" Barnes Has anybody ever heard of him? He played in the ABA for a while.He was a awesome scorer I remember reading awhile back about his string of 50 point games. However He was one of the wildest characters in NBA history.Here are some of his wildest moments:He once wrote a poem about DR J:There once was a doctor named Erving,Whose slam dunks were especially unnerving,But when Marvin gets movin',And the crowd gets to groovin',For the doctor a hospital bed they'll be reserving.One time he showed up to the game 5 minutes before tipoff wearing his uniform with a full mink coat eating a Big Mac and fries. Didnt effect his game much though he still scored over 40 points.

Re: Marvin "Bad News" Barnes I just did some research on the guy and he only played in the ABA for two seasons where he had some pretty good numbers but when he went to the NBA for 4 seasons, he didnt do near as much. Averaged like 11 a game or something like that

It's a pretty sweet book it has stats for every NBA player that ever played even if they played 1 game. That is where I find most of my stuff at.
Re: Marvin "Bad News" Barnes Where did you get that book at? There are alot of older players that people talk about, that i know nothing about. I still wouldn't know everything obviously because it's only a book, and i wouldn't get to actually see them play ball, but it would give me fun facts to know about the old greats.

He said he put a towel over his head and toked well he was sitting right by his teammates, coaches, and National TV lol.He had alot of talent, but he never used it because he was such a bad ass and he didnt care.
