Just thought I would ask a question to the board to see what people thought.

All of this is assuming that there is a full NBA season next year:

If the Knicks dont pick up Billups team option for next year, does that make him a free agent?

If it does, would be you interested in him?

If so how much would be willing pay and for how long?

If New York doesn't pick up the option, then yes he is a free-agent. Tough question about how much; since the CBA negotiations may change everything. If it's anything like the last 10 years; we can only offer Vet Min. (4.5 mil per season)

No, if the CBA doesn't change we could offer the MLE, which last year was around 5.8M per year.

Vets min is ~1.5M per year I think.

Either way, CBA is clearly getting restructured, so I don't know if we could realistically get him after the changes.

Would you be interested in him as a replacement for Miller if he was affordable? Dont get me wrong I like Miller quite a bit for the most part but I would be curious to see how a point guard that has some range would do on this team.

Miller is better at this point than Billups. However, if Billups was willing to come off the bench, the two of them would be an awesome PG tandem.
