The game may not have been the most beautiful, but a win’s a win, and Friday’s 40-35 win over the Chicago Slaughter makes it five in a row for the Fairbanks Grizzlies. “The bottom line is the guys fought hard,” Grizzlies coach Robert Fuller said after the Indoor Football League game at the Carlson Center. “They did what needed to be done to win.” Chicago got points on the board first as kicker Chris Nendick drained a 42-yard field goal after a five-minute, six-play drive by the Slaughter. Tony Taylor gave the Fairbanks faithful something to cheer about just eight seconds later as he ran Nendick’s kickoff back 46 yards for a touchdown.
