This is really sad news and terrible timing. MGB is one of the best Blazer fans there is and a great contributor to this forum. I bought tickets from him multiple times this season. It was always a pleasure interacting with him. I REALLY wish this hadn't happened, because if ANYONE deserves to be at the Rose Garden watching the Blazers kick the collective Dallas Mavericks ass tonight, it's Michael. Get well soon, buddy. I hope the Blazers extend this series to 6 games, you have a speedier than expected recovery and get to be there and watch them win this series in person. BNM
I talked to Michael tonight and he will be in the Hospital until at least Monday or Tuesday. He is hoping his wife can get him a cord that will work for his laptop. He is at the Sunnyside Kaiser hospital in Clackamas if anyone would like to visit him. He did find out he is anemic and has some internal bleeding. The doctors can't figure out where it is at. I would say it must not be to serious as Michael is in great spirits. I'm sure he will sleep well since the Blazers got him a win!
His wife got the powercord, but he said it is a bitch typing. Good to hear and here is hoping he can watch us wrap up the series here Game 6.
Thank you for all the kind posts. They meant a lot when Blazerbeliever read them to me and when I read them last nite. Last nite was nice because the Blazers won and my wife go me the right universal power cord! Though I read this and a few other threads, it was to hard to type on the keyboard of the laptop. My wife brought me my normal keyboard tonite so I can finally post. It was nice to find out my hip wasn't broken, but because of my size they couldn't get a x-ray of my back. They don't think it's soft tissue injury because of the symptoms. So rehab is my path there, but a larger concern is that I'm anemic and have low iron. So that might indicate bleeding in the colon. So I need to have a colonscopic. Lots of fun. They also want to go down into my stomach to check for any bleeding. Right now we are trying to take water off my body so I can move better which I'll need to be able to do when they clean out my system since I'm going to be getting up and down a lot to go to the bathroom. I've already taken 10 liters off and hope to be able to have the procedures done by Wednesday.
Wow! 10 liters is 2.6 gallons of water. Keep it up my friend. Maybe I can come visit you Monday or Tuesday. What times are best? I will even bring the kiddo.
I feel for you with the colonoscopy. Miralax is no fun. I spent a month at Kaiser Sunnyside, its a good hospital with a great staff. I started getting sick last year during the Suns series. I know how it can be insult on top of injury when your beloved Blazers lose. Hope you get better!
That's great SPD! Did Rice actually hold that or did you insert my name? Either way that is really neat.
No way, I busted down there past security and yelled at Rice to come over to the sideline and asked him to hold the sign. Wheels, HailBlazer and PrtlPlatypus were all there with me.
I can only wonder how MGB is feeling now? Maybe you need to stay in the hospital until the end of the series!
Best of luck and hope you start feeling better MGB. Good health means much more than any sports. Nonetheless a big blazy win never hurts!
I can vouch for this. We went in the lower bowl with the sign, and also where Kingspeed stood us up. That is a real sign Rice held. hope you are feeling a little better MGB!
