<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Miami confirmed on Monday that Derek Anderson had picked up his $2.5M option as expected, and that the team now has to wait to find out the status of forward James Posey.Agent Mark Bartelstein said Monday that today's deadline for Posey's 2006-07 opt-in has been shifted to Friday, instead of the previous deadline of 24 hours before Wednesday's 7:30 p.m. NBA Draft. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel expects Posey to opt out, considering his strong play during the playoffs. Posey was scheduled to make $6.4 million next season.</div>SourceThats one less player for the bench, our bench is gonna look REALLY bad if GP and Zo both leave. It would basically consist of both Andersons, Doleac and Jason Kapono. Riley needs to make some big moves this off-season, I don't see it being to much of a problem since Riley has done it before.

Loosing Posey will be a sting, he was the player that did alot of the little things to help out your team especially in the playoffs. He drew charges, wasn't out of position on defense, set the picks to get people open, all of these things that teams need from players. To go along with that, he wasn't to bad of a shooter for you guys on the offensive side of things.

This would be the time to leave if i was James Posey. After being a good part of a championship contender team, the pay day is going to be good for Posey elsewhere. I can definately see why he would want to leave and go find a different team to be on, and get the good money.

He wants a long term deal with Miami. As do the fans of Miami.

Chill, this doesn't necessarily mean he's not signing with Miami again. It means he opted out to see what other kind of offers he could get. Personally, I would LOVE him in Boston in some sort of sign-and-trade involving Wally or Allen.

If Posey leaves and Zo and Payton leave then what really can Riley do? He doesn't have much to work with as far as trades go, and I think trading away future picks would really hurt them since they're an old team that already doesn't have a first rounder this year.

I think that Posey is going to opt out of his contract to test the waters. But honestly, I see him signing a long term deal with the Heat. The team chemistry that he has with the team is great and plus, he just won a championship, why ruin a good thing.
