If you ever see in person how he interacts with the public and how approachable you'd like him. Probably as humble of a billionaire as there is.
Has a head coach ever been fired during a playoff series? He didn't luck into it or inherit it. He earned it outright.
Having read Cuban's story it's fair to say he earned it more than most of his peers. That was certainly a case of working to get to that Billion dollar figure. Still, anyone with a few Billion fell ass backwards into at least some of it.
I've met Cuban and he's a genuinely good guy. The real question is if HCP defects does it count, since he's half cuban?
Yeah... as much as I hate seeing him courtside complaining to the refs... it is because he is pulling for the wrong team... ... he would be a great owner to have.
I like Cuban's passion for the game and willingness to try what it takes to win. But his ego is irritating, people do not come to games to see the owner. At one point he sat on the bench and joined the huddle. Way out of place. During Game 3 reportedly some "fans" were throwing things at Cuban and one poster, from the safety of his keyboard, seemed to think that was somehow manly and fanly. I call bullshit. I'd bet my very modest bank account Cuban hurt FAR more from the 23-point comeback than from anything anyone threw at him. Let the Blazers do the hurting on the visitors. Or the hosts.
I like Cuban. He kinda reminds what Al Bundy ("Married with Children") would be like if he won a Basketball franchise - he'd be loving it, soaking in every moment, and he'd be trash talking along the way.
I don't think he left in a snit. He probably didn't talk to anyone as he left because he had major moves on his mind, like whether to fire the coach. Some posters project their own immaturity onto billionaire businessmen. As for crandc's paranoia of freedom and human nature ("manly ego") I love the spontaneity of both Cuban and the crowd.
That's pretty much all fans are generally looking for in an owner. It's like saying the only reason Chicago fans liked Michael Jordan was because he was an amazing talent who helped their team win a lot. If he had sucked, they would have hated his guts.
