There are really no positives to take away from that debacle, and dwelling on negatives won't solve anything.

Down the memory hole for me, and I hope to see a different team on Thursday.

    Go Blazers!

Amen. Now the question: do I buy a Friday plane ticket to Dallas? Would probably be cheaper if I bought it now.

I'm not so sure about this. I think this game psychologically mindfucked the Blazers worse than Game 4 mindfucked the Mavs. Dallas could have won either game at the Rose Garden if not for lucky bounces and heroic efforts. The Blazers really haven't threatened the Mavericks in Dallas. The Mavs stealing Game 6 against a mentally fragile Blazer team seems likely. Haven't we seen this movie? I mean really. When do Blazer teams ever get tough?

Waitaminit... Blazer fans are Charlie Brown? Why, just the other day it was Dallas fans who were Charlie Brown!

    Conclusions:

    • Only one team per sport can win it all each year. Therefore, being a fan of most franchises is painful.
    • Canzano needs to find himself his own fucking metaphor.

That's a fucking sad piece of blatant plagiarism on Canzano's part. He ought to be ashamed. But he probably isn't.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
The Blazers are a bunch of gutless losers except when they win. Then they're gutty winners.

I love Canzano's comparing it to an abusive relationship. Good analogy, completely appropriate. Blazers fans are alone in not seeing championships pour in year after year and experiencing playoff disappointments. The extreme and unusual trauma Blazers fans experience is pretty comparable to one person being physically or emotionally damaged by someone else.

I think the moment you start to lose perspective to the point that that sounds reasonable to you, you need to get away from watching sports, because it's warping your mind. Even if that means we lose Canzano and his insightful articles.

We had game 1 in our hands. We posted up their little guards and took what felt like a commanding 6 point lead midway through the 4th quarter but then the refs paraded Dirk to the free-throw line.

I don't see how you can call the Blazers mentally fragile? They dealt with a slew of injuries all season long but stayed tough and made the playoffs. Then after losing the first two games, they were tough enough to grab Game 3. THEN, down 23, they were tough enough to come back and win that one. And that wasn't just Brandon Roy. We scored 35 points that quarter and played some very good defense.

Mentally fragile? You have got to be kidding me. Losing is part of a title run. No team has ever gone 16-0. It's all about staying focused and overcoming the bad losses. Look at last year. The Lakers got completely embarrassed by the Thunder in OKC but the Lakers responded and won the series. The Celtics, en route to the Finals, suffered their worst ever playoff home loss against the Cavs but went on to win the series.

Why don't you wait to see how Thursday and hopefully Saturday play out before you rake them over the coals? I'm EXTREMELY proud of our team. We're a good team and we deserve to be where we are. The Mavericks are a good team too and they earned the edge of HCA during the season. If we overcome that, and we will have that opportunity, it will be a wonderful moment for all Blazer fans. Don't count them out yet. Did you learn nothing from the third quarter of Game 3 when you proclaimed them dead?

I feel like we are getting out played on both sides of the ball. We have had one good quarter in the last eight, and four in the last twenty. I feel as if we aree the better team and have alot of matchups we should expose but overall as a team and especially on defense we are getting beat. We will win tomorrow because we are at home but looking at the series at a whole, dallas has played better. Just my opinion.

It's not like he pulled this from one our forum posts...did he really think that no one in Portland would read what the DAL columnists would write about the game?

So when Roy has a shitty game there is no need to talk about it, but when he mixes in 1 good game that's all we can talk about?

Basically this game was all about getting the bad shooting out of our system. We can't get any worse. I mean statistically we'll be shooting the lights for the rest of the series. It's proven mathematics.

Portland will win Game 6. No worries there. But you're right. Dallas has owned us on their home court. They have to be the favorities in Game 7.

We need to dominate the game on Thursday. Win by 15+. We havent played that great in Dallas, yet we have had chances to win all three games.

Last nights game really makes me miss a healthy Greg Oden. I honestly think we would have beaten Dallas in 5 games if we had a healthy Greg.

LaMarcus had a horrible game again.

Where is the guy who put together multiple 30+ point games and was taking over down low in the paint? That LaMonster opened up the offense for all our shooters and they were getting wide open 3's off doubles. LaMarcus has still had solid moments this series but he doesn't look like an all-star snub he looks like a player worse then Kevin Love.

Are other so-called "superstars" worn out? You bet they are, but they still find the energy to put their teams on their backs and drive through to win. I don't understand this level of excuse-making at all.
