As you should know Nick Diaz is perturbed over his salary (last fight: $175,000). He wants to be making millions and as one of the hardest working world champions in sports you can hardly fault him, especially since his fighting style is nothing short of electrifying. Lately Diaz has been trying to arrange a pro boxing bout with a name-brand pugilist in order to boost his income. There is a chance he is only using boxing as leverage for a fresh, greener contract with either Strikeforce or the UFC. In any case Dana White is flying out to see Diaz to have a heart-to-heart with the mercurial star. My guess DFW will put a parking boot on Diaz's plans to take a boxing bout and try to bring him into the family (teach him how to "play the game", as it were). Can it work?

Isn't Dana going after the fight this week? Perhaps I'm a wishful thinker but I think if GSP wins he'll tell Diaz that hes got the next shot against GSP if he wants it instead of the boxing match. From the other comments I read it really doesn't look like Dana would be that upset about Diaz boxing. Its in his contract so why wouldn't he take advantage now since his next contract surely won't afford him the opportunity to box.

I don't think its necessarily a bad thing for Diaz to go get some hype among boxing fans and maybe lure a few of them back over into MMA.

DFW: "I know for a fact boxing isn't for him."

    Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

And yes if GSP decides not to move up, a fight with Diaz makes a ton of sense.

Strikeforce isn't going to be around long anyway, it seems.
