It has been confirmed that Jay Lethal has parted ways with TNA Wrestling. His profile was removed from the organization's website Wednesday night. Details regarding his departure have yet to be disclosed. Lethal's departure surprised some people within TNA. One company source who was on hand for this week's television tapings was not aware Lethal was leaving the company. Lethal worked Tuesday's iMPACT! television taping after competing in the X Division Ultimate Xscape Match at TNA Lockdown. Lethal has been sparingly featured since dropping the X Division Championship to Kazarian in January at TNA Genesis. UPDATE: In a new bit of information, many within TNA are saying that organization officials opted to release the former X Division Champion. It seems like there is much more to this story that we have yet to learn. More as we get it. Source: Pwinsider
That kinda shocks me. I mean, I haven't watched TNA in ages, but he seemed like he was one of their better guys. If WWE is smart, they may take a look at him, because he could certainly help their roster out.
Further evidence that TNA doesn't have a damn clue what they're doing. WCW failed a decade ago and they're doing the exact same shit with the same people. TNA has the young talent (and I mean talent, not just dudes on the roster) to provide a significant alternative to WWE and they're not. If TNA had been smart over the past couple of years, they would have been ready for the moment WWE dropped "wrestling" from its vocabulary and been in a position to be the wrestling program to watch. Instead, you have Hulk, Flair, Bischoff, and Sting's three move arsenal running things. I leave Jarrett and Angle out because they're both old, but both can perform still, though Jarrett is unworthy of the emphasis he puts on himself.
The network here (Australia) dumped TNA because there weren't many viewers in the last couple of months. Its a shame really before Hogan came along I think once the 6 sided ring went; things took a dive. Does anyone know what happened to The Motor City Machine Guns?
Last I knew they were still teaming...and according to their Wiki they're still together. But I honestly have no idea, since I haven't watched TNA since January.
Come to think of it I haven't seen much of Generation Me either. Hopfully TNA does not get rid of more younger talent because if they do it will only stand to hurt them in the long run.
Lethal would be a brilliant pickup for WWE. They're looking for youth and black superstars. Here's one with in-ring talent and some personality ready for the taking. Especially with what appears to be a Nation of Domination reboot coming together with Mark Henry and R-Truth's recent heel turns. If I was guessing, WWE would have Ezekiel Jackson as the leader in that group, but Lethal would fit well with them as the mouthpiece of the group.
