http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...in_Willing_To_Come_Off_Bench_For_Winning_Team kmart off the bench?? only thing is do we qualify as a "winning team"....
I think he and JR Smith are the main reason most people hate the Thuggets. His taking a mature position about his roll on a team really blows me away.
Martin hasn't put up a PER of over 15 since 2005-2006. For everyone who talks about how good he's been since having microfracture on both knees, the stats sure don't show it. He'll be 34 next year, and I just don't see how he can have many more miles left on those knees.
Funny, I have thought for a while KMart would be awesome coming off our bench, and that at this point in his career he might be willing to do it. Unless someone has a better idea, I say go after him.
I'd prefer my first big off the bench be a guy who can play both the 4 and the 5. KMart can't do that. I want flexibility off of our depth, and he's a straight 4.
Would love it. But he's not ocming for what we could afford. But something like that. So if we go to our bench, in some lineups, Wallace could play the 4, and not need Aldridge out there at the 5, but our first big.
Nene off of the bench for Portland? That's not going to happen, and he's in his prime, unlike Martin, who may end up signing somewhere for the vet minimum. I can see him ending up in Miami to try and get a ring. Nene will get starter money from someone if he isn't extended first by Denver.
