Stars' sale process slows coach search

    "The search for a new Dallas Stars coach will be slowed by the search for a new owner, general manager Joe Nieuwendyk said Thursday. However, two sources said the process of getting a new owner is moving along.Vancouver businessman Tom Gaglardi is in the first days of a 30-day exclusive negotiating window in which his people will try to fashion a contract to purchase the Stars from a group of lenders led by Monarch Investments, according to the sources. If the Stars can clear the offer through competitors and present it in an organized bankruptcy court, the Stars could be sold by July1."We are sort of on hold in a lot of different areas because of the ownership situation," said Nieuwendyk, who has spent the last couple of weeks scouting the Texas Stars' first-round playoff series loss to Milwaukee. "We have a plan for the next couple of weeks, but we'll form our timeline for the coach search at that time. We really haven't even started yet.""
