"The Steelers have tapped the University of Florida for another offensive lineman.

The Steelers took 6-6, 330-pound tackle Marcus Gilbert with their second-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Gilbert started 30 games during his career at Florida, including all 13 in 2010, and he will be reunited with former Gators teammates Maurkice Pouncey in Pittsburgh.

"He`s a high energy player. He`s athletic. He plays the game physical the way he like here," Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler said. "An added bonus is he and Maurkice are best buds."

The Steelers haven`t settled on Gilbert`s primary position but they have uncertainty at tackle with Max Starks, another Florida alum, and Willie Colon coming back from season-ending injuries. Also, Colon is a free agent.

"At some point his best position will come out," Kugler said of Gilbert. "He has pulling skills so we could envision him at the guard spot as well, We`re trying to get the best five and the best two game day guys behind that. He`ll be in the right spot when it comes time to go. ""
