"The New Orleans Saints have selected Louisville cornerback Johnny Patrick in the third round (88th pick overall) on Friday night.

    Here his bio:

CB Johnny Patrick, Louisville 5-11, 191

A first team All-Big East selection as a senior, Patrick had 49 tackles and 5 interceptions in 2010. NFL draft scout had him ranked as the 12th best cornerback in the draft, although prior to the combine Pro Football Weekly had him as the 5th best available at the position. Turned in a 4.55 40 time at the combine.

Coach Sean Payton praised Patrick's athleticism, which manifests itself in, "area quickness and change of direction." While Payton said the Saints expect Patrick to provide depth at cornerback, the coach repeatedly stressed the fact Patrick should contribute immediately in the kicking game, primarily as a gunner.

Patrick said he has played special teams his entire career and considers it one of his strengths."
