    Yeah, East Coast seems to take priority. It was a bit strange coming out of the MGM Grand Garden a few years back and realizing that the show was over but it was only 10 o'clock. Now it will be even earlier.

    I guess most people are expecting GSP to steamroll Shields. What are the odds Shields can take one round, snapping GSP's 30-round flawless streak? Think Jake can get top position and maintain it for a single round?

    The main event was a major letdown but it is hard to be frustrated after the show the UFC put on tonight.

    The Facebook prelims were awesome with four memorable finishes and one decent back-and-forth scrap. The SpikeTV fights were good too. Rory MacDonald showed why he is a top welterweight prospect by out-everything-ing Nate Diaz and slamming him all over the cage in the last round. Ellenberger reminded us he is a serious KO puncher but I don't think anyone had forgotten.

    The PPV fights were good. Hendo/Bocek was a bit predictable with Bocek unable to maintain top control where he seems to have to be. Vladdy knocking out Brilz in 20s was a shocker. Machida/Couture was excellent and a return to form for The Dragon. Aldo/Hominick was more competitive than most expected and the damage was dramatic. If only the main event had lived up to the rest of the night.

    Dunno what to think about GSP at this point. Even before his eye was damaged he wasn't really pressing the action. He seems to be coasting. Two judges thought he lost two rounds--hopefully this will serve as a bit of a wake-up call for him in the same way the loss to Serra reinvigorated his career. He was a little hesitant to call out Silva at the end of the fight and you can't really blame him; if Jake Shields can mess up his face in a kickboxing match I don't know how long he would last against The Spider. You can't put all the blame on GSP, though. He keeps fighting guys that aren't really engaging him much. Still, this has to be the worst performance of his career since his last loss.
