Penny Hardaway could have been on the same boat as Vince Carter or Paul Pierce, if he didn't have these injuries.A synonym for Chris Webber could have been Beast, before surgery killed his career. Before the move to Philadelphia, he put up nasty, MVP-worthy numbers. He was the Kings fuel to the Western Conference Finals.Jamal Mashburn also had pretty sick numbers before he endured Career-Killing injuries. He had a nice jumper, and played sort of like Glenn Robinson. Is Amare Stoudamire going down the same path? He is young, but so was Penny.

Jamal Sampson, he had a chance to be one of the better big men of all time and injuries killed his career, who know what he could have done with Olajuwon being that he was amazing and 7'4".

Its a shame what injuries could do to your life and career.

Where's Jay Williams. He had a good rookie season and then that mortorcycle accident killed his career, he's on a comeback though. This might not count because it's a motorcycle accident.

Yeah I wouldnt count that in this category. If your going to go with people who got hurt outside of basketball, then I remember a guy who used to play for the nets. He was a awesome shooter and carried the nets. But one summer after they lost to the cavs in the playoffs he want to germany or some foreign country and got in a car accident and died. Sad thing is my dad met him at this New Jersey bar called houlahands after a game in the series. He shook his hand and talked to him for a little bit. A couple weeks later he was dead.

Shawn Kemp was better than Amare IMO. And Jason Kidd is a shell of his former self, so is VC.Woops and how can I forget the amazing Mcdyess! Dayum he was a beast.I think the one I cry over the most, even as a Laker fan is Webber, he would have been better than Duncan and KG, ti's a shame.

I don't know if this counts but Bill Walton could have achieved so much more if he didn't have his injuries. Despite that he has 2 rings, 1 from Portland and 1 from Boston.Jonathan Bender was supposed to have been a promising player for Indiana but he's been injured most of the time, leading to his retirement just recently. Though he's already old, Doug Christie still had a few years left in him talent-wise but the injuries kept him from doing that.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jkidd51524 @ Jun 29 2006, 11:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah I wouldnt count that in this category. He's pretty much the guy who started the inflow of international players in the NBA.About NBA players who died too soon, you guys should be interested in Len Bias. No. 2 pick in the 1986 draft out of University of Maryland, selected by the Boston Celtics. Said to have been one of the two unstoppable players in college basketball at the time. The other was MJ. Bias died 2 nights after being drafted due to cocaine intoxication. Just imagine if he didn't die... Celtics Dynasty would have lived on much longer!

Re: Players who's Careers have been killed by injuries.

Dajuan Wagner could have been a very good player in this league, but injuries ruined his career. I was a huge fan of him, and thought his rookie season went over pretty well. Unfortunately he just is not playing because of injuries. As a Magic fan i can't ever see this topic and not think about Grant Hill. If we had him and Mcgrady at the same time on the court, that Magic team would have been dangerous. As good as Kevin Johnson was for the Suns, he would have been better if it was not for his numerous injuries. He got hurt alot in the mid 90's which really did not help him much at all.

In a few years, we might be saying Tracy McGrady. This year, he missed alot of the season with a bad back. He's always had it, and it keeps geting worse. Hopefully he can fix that up soon

How about Mucus Camby? He could be considered one of the best centers in the league if he wasnt so injury prone.

Most people still consider him a Top 5 Center still. Maybe his career didn't go as well as he would have liked, but I doubt he would've been anything more than what he is now

Jamal Sampson is currently on the Kings I think.Penny Hardaways career was killed by injuries. Real shame too. He was really something especially in Orlando with Shaq.

Vince Carter :lol:Grant Hill for sure, just look at his drop from 2000 onward, and he still averages over 7 reboundsa per game. Man he wouldve been incredible

Grant Hill was an all NBA talent and could have won MVP's had it not been for his injuries. He was an amazing scorer and it hurts me as a Piston fan to see a former Piston great have to go through the later stages of his career being injured all the time.

Re: Players who's Careers have been killed by injuries.

Grant Hill, also how about some old school. Rudy Tomjanovich after being sucker punched in the face was never the same. Also Michael Dickerson went through something. I don't know it off the top of my head, but injuries ruined his career. He lookd very promising with the Vancouver Grizzlies. Also how about Jonathan Bender. His career was cut short because of leg problems. As for Amare, I dont think so. He is too athletic for his career to be cut short for one season ending knee problem. But time will tell. He actually looked pretty good in his "comeback" midseason. We'll see how he fairs next season.
