If the picture is real, it seems more likely he was shot at point-blank than in a firefight. The shot is too good. The back of his head probably looked like a smashed pumpkin. Seems likely he was off-ed by his bodyguard or executed by the SEALs. Capturing him alive/letting him speak maybe a bad move for various reasons.

yeah, because the fake they made is so convincing. But since we faked the moon landing, 9/11 and JFK's assassination, obviously this one is faked too. Oh, and conveniently they only took the 1 photograph of Osama..

If they were to fake a picture why the hell would they pick one that uses a well known picture of him as proof? Maybe the proof that was leaked was not leaked by the US, but by someone who made a fake picture.

Also, if it was faked, why wouldn't Al Quada (sp) just come out today and show OBL? You know how damning that would be?

The govt. isn't using this picture as proof. I heard on CNN all morning that he had a gunshot wound to the side of his head, consistent with suicide.

As to the last question, they can't if he died in 2002.

Wait... they buried him at sea within 24 hours? Wow.......

I don't care if I'm labeled a conspiracy theorist, this shit is all waaaaaay too convenient.

    Obama: Hey we found Bigfoot.

Reporter: That's great, can we see him?

Obama: Nope. He was buried at sea within 24 hours of shooting him.

Reporter: Okay, well, can we at least see where he was shot?

Obama: Nope. We crashed a helicopter in the process of bagging him, and that whole area burned to the ground. Nothing left but ashes.

Reporter: Well can we at least see a decent photo?

Obama: Nope, but rest assured, we used facial recognition and DNA testing to confirm that it was, in fact, bigfoot.

    Reporter: Okay......

I have no idea where you got that idea from. He always claimed that Afganistan was the only Islamic country in the world and Al-Qaeda is decribed as "an organized Islamic faction, its goal is to lift the word of God, to make His religion victorious."

Both administrations took great pains to try and distinguish OBL and AQ from Islam is what he means.

Dealing with the corpse the way they did is probably an effort to quell retaliation for any perceived affronts to Islam regarding the handling of the body.

I'm talking about people who say the terrorists do not represent Islam. If they do not, then why be so fastidious to bury the most villainous terrorist criminal of the past 50+ years to respect his islamic heritage. This is war, son. Wouldn't the US want to know about his physical disposition? His kidney ailments, etc? There was a rush it seems to get rid of the body and get rid of all "evidence" using the veil of "Islamic tradition" as an excuse.

Well, the photo is an obvious fake, so what else are we not being told?

So it's only ok to question stuff like this and make up conspiracies when there is a Democratic president, but when it's a Republican, anything like this is appalling. Got it. More hypocrisy in political discussions.

You don't find anything strange that after years and years of hunting for Bin Laden that this was all conveniently wrapped up in hours and they dumped the body and blazed the house before any secondary confirmation? No autopsy, no one else knew about the operation besides 2 dozen special ops forces. There was only 3 hostiles killed along with the leader of the largest terrorist organization in the world? Were there others arrested there too?

But go ahead and just ignore it all and believe the company line. :MARIS61:

Despite the heinous acts committed during his life, the killing of another human being being celebrated with such jubilance leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Nod and move on with dignity. Did nobody else get an odd feeling when you saw crowds of people chanting 'USA, USA' outside of the White House? Celebrating his death with patriotic chants is a little off key, if you ask me.

Couldn't this also be breaching Pakistan's privacy? Intruding on their borders to capture the most wanted man on the planet even if they were harboring him within their country.

It may not represent Islam but there must be thousands, if not millions who would want to respect his beliefs no matter what damage the man caused.

War? This is nothing close to a war no matter what the tabloids say.

Who cares about respecting his beliefs. This was a US military action, not a police and fire rescue. Do they lose the ability for intelligence just to respect islamic tradition? Do they do this for every Al Queda death? Even those high value targets, do they do this?

I agree it was stupid to have americans celebrating in the street singing "hey hey heeeeyyy...goood bye".
