The Osama Bin Laden Conspiracy Theories- you know they're coming.

They do have photographs of Bin Laden's body. They just haven't made a determination as to how or when they will be released. It's obvious that the SEAL's took him out. There is no conspiracy in this instance. And I lean more republican than democrat.

 

Who did I attack personally? You were trying to lump Democrats together as hypocrites. I didn't ever say "Bush lied, people died" and I've said several times recently that Obama has utterly failed to keep his campaign promises about transparency. If we're on the subject of each other's "problems," your problem is that you don't make any nuanced arguments. It's all broad strokes that generally try to lump "Dems" or liberals together negatively. Where are your rants about "Repubs" or conservatives?

The American people, in general, are partisan and political opportunists (at least, those interested in politics). If your only point was Democrats are more critical of Republican politicians and vice versa....that's a bit obvious, eh? Your rant was clearly more to take Democrats to task for what people of each party do. I was just highlighting that.

I was snarky, though. When people seem intent on making non-partisan, sincere efforts to discuss, I'm not snarky. When one is essentially trying to (in a milquetoast way) say "You people of that party are hypocrites," I tend to be snarky.

 

I believe burial happened 12 hours, including preparation and transport. That just seems extremely fast to do any due diligence

Hey, if they show irrefutable evidence I will gladly accept it, but immediately dumping the body in the ocean looks really fishy... no pun intended.

If Obama annouces they killed bin Laden and it is later shown they had not (like a live appearance by bin Laden somewhere) . . . Obama would never be able to recover from it.

I think it is silly to question if bin Laden is really dead . . . but I thought it was silly to question if Obama was really born inthe US.

So what I think is silly and what becomes real politcal issues are obviously independent of each other.

It seems perfectly logical to me. Burial at sea is permissable according to Islamic beliefs and it is also customary for burial to be within 24 hours of death. I would bury him at sea so that no martyrdom site pops up where he would have been buried in the ground. I think this whole thing was handled perfectly. I have to give Obama a big "THUMBS UP!" for this one.

 

So are you questioning US intelligence or saying they may flat out be lying about Osama?

 

I believe we will have congressional hearings on how this was handled. Eventually. Maybe not. But it was done so quickly. The pakistan connection needs to be explored.

My point is, the Democrats seem to be extremely hypocritical on the heels of Bush. They yelled and screamed and bitched and moaned about how dirty he was, and how corrupt things were, and how Obama was basically a breath of fresh air. That certainly doesn't seem to be the case, regardless of whether he did or did not get Osama. Sorry if I make broad strokes, but you don't see me making claims that those who think something is suspect about this have a mental disorder as someone did in this thread. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I can't stand hypocrisy, and that goes for the other side as well.

There's a reason why I'm not a Republican. The party doesn't stand for conservative spending or less government anymore. There's no way a Republican should support legislation on abortion, gay marriage, or doctor assisted suicide. They have no right to tell people what they can or can't do in their homes. I think it's disgusting that the GOP has been taken over by some kind of moral elite who thinks they have the pulse of America. I didn't vote for Bush because I deplore the Patriot Act and there was an obscene level of corruption in his administration.

I have seen pictures of dead bad guys from the time photos were introduced. Before photos, they did sketches. The dead guys were on display for all to see. They would stick them right out in public. Hell, we even have sadam on film. That guy made the internet within Min's.

If obummer is so proud and stuff, sneak us a peek. I dont want to wait around until they can CGI something together. People say that they faked the moon landing. I do not agree, but if you could fool the people with that technology, think about what you could do today..

 

The birthers is irreverent. If anything this would help obama take americas mind off the economy and justify his foreign policy.
