ehh...cant say im exstatic i was holding my breath hoping marcus williams would fall 4 spots more to the lakers...yea right lol but it was close and im ok with farmar the lakers needed a guard who can handle the ball and that can contribute to the team and i believe farmar can do it,as far as playing time i doubt he will play alot but can be a solid producer off of the bench..maybe depends, because if the lakers do sign marcus banks they got more than enough point guards..smush parker, marcus banks, sasha vujachic, and then farmar course banks isnt a given and sasha plays the 2 guard too especially with his height for a point guard*,but all in all im happy with farmar i was surprised the lakers didnt draft sergio rodriguez aka spanish chocolate but farmar was available and it was the right choice even with guys like james white available i think it was a good move,i watched the ucla bruins every game in the tournament as a ucla fan and he is a good pick...glad the lakers got him
There is a stickied draft thread...I wanted Ager really bad, but I'm happy with Farmar as long as he works on his shot...

i was waiting for hollins in second round dammit, who did they get in the second round?i missed it considering espn didnt air it
actually, um, yes. Remember during the championship runs kobe either started as or rotated to the three quite a bit and was very effective, mostly, in my opinion, because of the agility mismatched defending on other threes which is to say, typical three DONT match up, hence kobe gets his way with, the down side(biggest) with that is that odom seems to only be comfortable in the three position.
the lakers 51st pick -http://www.nba.com/draft2006/profiles/CheickSamb.html honestly i didnt know who in the hell he was if you dont either, then this will explain that to you personally i dont like the pick and i was pissed that dee brown, leon powe, and ryan hollins were just out of reach from the lakers, course you cant really expect much from the 51st pick in the draft actually looking at him now samb isnt that bad at the 51st pick he actually has alot of upside i think this is a prelude to the lakers getting rid of mihm <---cheick samb
I hope the Lakers get rid of him, he has upside but he is probably DLeague material..btw nice avatar 247
Farmar's info looks promising. I'm gonna have to watch some preseason games this season.. dammit lol. I hope he plays well this season that they start him the year after.
well lucky for me im going alot of the summer league games and ill get to watch these guys play, god i cant wait till mid july to watch farmar play with bynum and turiaf lol i really want to see how turiaf plays after a year of working out with kobe in the offseason
Well I am glad they traded Samb away. They got a solid 2 and back up to Kobe for him. But if they didn't trade him it would have been pretty stupid considering Pittsnogle went undrafted.

I really like this pick for LA and I am suprised Farmar was still on the board at 26. He is going to fit in well with the Lakers. He's big for a PG, tough, runs hard, good court vision, decent decision maker, and an exceptional athlete. I think he will be nice off the bench for some minutes behind Banks (if he does, in fact, sign with the Lakers), allowing Parker to play a little off the ball.
