WinnersNew Jersey Nets-Marcus Williams, a much needed backup Point Guard to JKidd-Josh Boone, A Big Man that can fill in for the aging Cliff Robinson.Portland Trail Blazers-LaMarcus Aldridge, Future All-Star-Brandon Roy, see LaMarcus Aldridge-Raef LaFrentz-Sergio Rodriguez-Joel Freeland-James WhiteMemphis Grizzlies-Shannon Brown-Rudy Gay-Stro SwiftLosersSeattle Sonics-Sene Saer, a player relatively new to the game that could be a huge flop. Biggest risk this draft.

How about the Toronto Raptors? Andrea Bargnani and PJ. Tucker.

Theyve had a solid draft. Colangelo has had another good one.

You have to love the Knicks. Everyone said they should have took Williams with thier 20th pick, but instead they go with a guy who would have been thier in the second round. Got to love Isiah. Was I the only one to hear the fans chant "Fire Isiah"? [IMG]

Rockets were stupid! Swift and Gay for Battier. Shane is not that good.

Winner: New Jersey - Their biggest problem was depth, and they fix it somewhat by getting the best PG in the draft. If Jason Kidd can keep Williams on the right track, expect a big boost off the benchLoser: Houston - Houston was lacking athletes, and guys who could create their own shot. They traded Gay for Battier, a player who can't create a shot, or give athletisicm

Yeah Houston is definetly a loser. They couldve been a winne rto if they wouldve kept Gay. How about Philly for a winner. They got their athletic wingman to play along Iguodala and a great defensive player in Bobby Jones. Theyve had a nice draft IMO.

Anyone have a link for the Rockets-Grizz trade. So far all I have seen doesn't involve Stro and the trade can't go through until mid-July.

Knicks picked him and look at what happened. Not saying Marcus is Lampe but you don't listen to Knicks fans because some guy is still in the green room. He does not fit a need on the Knicks, in addition Balkman would have been gone before the 2nd round. There's already talks about him being taken by Suns with one of their first rounders.
QUOTE

Loser: Houston - Houston was lacking athletes, and guys who could create their own shot. So far there two big signings last year are gone. Great job Dawson. :happy0144: Even though I like Battier.

Re: NBA Draft Winners & Losers

I think the Cavaliers were winners in this draft with the picks of Brown and Gibson. Both have pretty good shots from down town, and will help out on offense. These two will fit what this team wants to do, and will hopefully shoot better than Marshall and Jones did last year. Loosers could be, lets take a look at Denver who didn't even have a first round pick, needed someone who was a shooter and passed on the best available shooter left in the second round in Diaz? What was they thinking?San Antonio, and Detroit could be looser due to not even really being in this draft. San Antonio traded away their 2nd to last pick, not that Damir Markota would have probably done anything anyways. Detroit got Will Blalock, but he will be fighting just for roster space so that wasn't a huge pick anways. So i think due to not picking at all, these two are draft loosers.

How about Stromile? I knew he wasn't going to change the franchise, but I expected more out of him. He gave them nothing. Mediocre rebounder, overrated finisher, inconcsistent defender

Smith was like "If Renaldo Balkman doesn't turn out to be a mix between Ron Artest and Dennis Rodman which is what people are saying, then Isiah you can kiss your job goodbye." and then all the fans started chanting his name. "STEPHEN A. SMITH! STEPHEN A. SMITH!" lol

Detroit nabbed probably the best player left, and maybe he can turn out to be decent. Hunter could retire, and Tony Delk could leave. Will Blalock is the best possible pick, although I wanted Gansley.

The Blazers traded James White already. Surprise, surprise. We managed to make 6 trades in 3 hours, but if we actually need someone and the city is begging for a trade, the management can't get it done. Ridiculous.

By not even having a pick in this draft, it makes it really hard to get any young talent to start replacing these roleplayers and backups.

I'm from Portland, but I started hearing about LeBron when he was just a Sophomore in HS and started following him until the NBA, so I'm a Cavs fan.Other than that, I care more about college sports in general than the NBA.
