Interesting comments on Oden, and apparently he is willing to wait and see if he is going to pick up Miller's option. I'm guessing that finding a PG who can shoot and defend is a top priority.

Well it's obvious that the Blazers need to sign Oden moreso than anything else. They have put a lot of investment in this player, and the last thing they need is for him to leave town and become the star many thought him to be. So the difference between Oden and Miller is:

1.) Miller is an older player. We have definitely got our money's worth for him.

2.) We have lost a great deal for Oden and we need to turn that investment around.

3.) The decision of Cho, Blazers, coaching staff of the future with Roy really determines the future of Miller. If they really think Roy can come back and contribute like old or close to it, then Miller becomes a problem. This is why you want Miller gone and have advocated it all 2 years Miller stepped on the Blazer court. Anyone knows that Miller's success lies with Roy's failures. If you want Miller to succeed, then Roy must take a back seat. If you want Roy to succeed, then Miller must be dealt. They just don't work well with each other.

I want the Blazers to succeed, and neither Miller nor Roy is going to lead this team to a title.

That's the sad part. Miller nor Roy couldn't work together and find the best scenario for the team. Collectively, we should have with Aldridge, Miller and Roy. This has been what upsets me the most. I would have much rather seen Roy vs. Miller be about a pool game, instead of drama for the basketball team.

This fucking possibly "lock out" pisses me off for this very same reason. Basically, the Blazers can't do shit until an agreement is made. So basically, we are gonna talk about this until the end of July, then nothing until the actual lock out is over.

Not true. We could deal Miller right now if we wanted to.

That's what I'm saying. We can talk about it until July, then after it expires, we can't do shit until the lock out is over.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
They played very well together down the stretch of the previous (2009-10) season, after Roy came back from an injury. Then Roy got hurt again going into the playoffs and was never the same again.

The reason we don't have that is because Roy's knees are broken forever. Not because Roy and Miller can't play together.

I don't get what you're trying to say here. The Blazers have until June 30 to decide whether to pick up the option on Miller. They're also free to make any trade they want under the current CBA between now and June 30. They can make a trade today with any team that's out of the playoffs. I expect that Cho will be really active between now and the draft because he's going to want to get as much settled as he can before he loses the certainty of the current CBA.

At all costs move Roy and his crippling contract! Loved the old BRoy but he is the player that hurt us most in the playoffs (except for one game). Camby, Rudy and Babbitt can all find new homes as well. This leaves the entire future of the franchise hanging on the health of Oden and/or the decisions made about signing him. If I owned the team, and in light of my feelings of the above named players, I'd also sign and trade Oden and rebuild now.

The reason he doesn't want to give a definite answer on Miller right now is because he's a very valuable trade asset, since some team can trade equal value for him and then not exercise his option, saving them a lot of money. If he can't find a good trade before june 30 then I think he will definitely exercise the option.

My guess is GO signs the QO and doesn't look for other contracts. I think he has faith in his health and will roll the dice on this season. He'll then be free to go wherever he wants, unless there's a franchise tag agreement under the new CBA.

That would seriously be the worst case scenario for Portland. Somehow the Blazers need to sign him to at least a 3 year deal. He won't even play a full season because he isn't even ready yet, then if he does work, he becomes a unrestricted free agent that can go anywhere he wants. That would be completely terrible and I suspect that the fans would want Allen, Cho and Miller's head if he left for nothing.

My bet is that Oden is signed to a new 4 year deal before June 30th.

I don't think Greg really wants to be here. I think he'll be able to talk another team into taking a chance on him and then will force his way out of here, leaving us with pennies on the dollar in trade value. At that point, I say let him walk and force him to give up tens of millions of dollars.

BTW, if it happens as I think it will, I'll attend his first game in Portland wearing another uniform holding a sign that says "Judas".

I am thinking Oden will be resigned beyond just a 1 year deal. I think Miller's option will be picked up, but I would not be surprised if he was traded before the deadline. I think I am the most curious about what happens with Armon and Patty. I don't think either of them will be on the team next season, which is a shame. They never really got a real shot.
