<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>SCHRAGER ON THE SCENE: Yikes. The roof's going to come off of this place. Personally, I don't think Isiah meant to take Balkman. I'm convinced he thought he was taking former Dallas Maverick and Knick great, Ronaldo Blackman. He probably remembered Blackman lighting him up in the 80s, saw the draft board, and decided, "Yes, yes that guy's good! Let's take him!" Charles Dolan then likely ate a $100 bill, took a bath in Poland Spring water, and said "Go For it!" The Knicks fans are beyond outraged. There's an "F-Dolan" chant going at full force, which I'm sure is really delightful for the ESPN sound crew. So the Knicks have Balkman. I can't wait until Isiah realizes it's not the guy he thought it was. And I can't wait until Nate Robinson hazes him next year. What a disaster this team is.</div> Sums it up perfectly. :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA:

Supposedly Suns were going to draft him, meaning he would have been gone at 29. Instead they took him, making Suns rid both of their picks after losing out on the guy they wanted. In addition, took a guy they probably would have drafted at 20 at 29 in Mardy Collins. So I think it was a pretty good decision on the Knicks part. Going the opposite, had they drafted Marcus Williams, who in no way fits on the Knicks roster unless they wanted to play the first ever 5 man pg team.

I think the Knicks' pick of Balkman at #20 was bad, but Mardy Collins is a player (BUT.. bad situation with the likes of Marbury, Francis, Crawford, Rose, Richardson, and Robinson). I think New York did terrible in this draft, even though I like Collins, but I say bad pick because of the fit.

The only reason why they held onto it as long as they did is because they were still trying to trade it along with the 21 and whatever else was needed (i.e. cash, future picks) to get up to the teens to take 1 of the 4 players they did want (Armstrong, Carney, Brewer and Sefolosha). Once those 4 players were all taken they turned their nose at the draft and walked away.

Psh. The Suns? They're not that stupid to reach like that, even if the Knicks thought they were. I've heard a lot of good things about Collins and maybe this kid will be so pissed off by the backlash that he'll light it up. I dunno. But I think they're going to trade some people to make room for Collins.

Mike D'Antoni himself said"That's funny," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni flatly told a local radio station. "He wasn't even on our radar."

The Bulls must be pretty stoaked about this move. The Knicks didn't get any better through the draft, and haven't shown any signs of improvement. This means that they will probably end up with one of the best chances to land Greg Oden in the 2007 draft, and the Bulls have the option of switching first round picks with the Knicks.

I don't think the Knicks will lose enough games to be a top 3 lottery team, it will be rough but I can't see last year happening again because the players like Thomas and he will stick to a lineup/rotation.

LMAO didnt remember who they picked. My god, they need to do something about the management. I doubt Isiah will do any better as a head coach, and hopefully they will do the right thing and fire him when the time gets right.
