it baffles me why anyone would think publicly capturing him would be a good idea.

 

My preference would have been to take him alive. I hope at the least they put quarters in his eyes.

Because he would be held accountable for his actions instead of merely getting killed instantly. He would rot for years in a jail cell and probably die due to his medical condition. We would "interrogate" him (unless we stopped doing the EFFECTIVE interrogation methods that caught him in the first place) and he would be our prisoner.

However, he would live the rest of his life knowing that he is property of the United States of America.



No pain, no suffering...just a quick death for Bin Laden. He probably had 2-3 minutes of panic. For all the pain he's caused, that is the extent of his pain and suffering.
