The chickens are coming home to roost. After years of ridicule and disdain from the fans of the team he once sweat and bled for, JAMAL is back and he has his assassins glare going and destruction on his mind. Last night, as I watched him shred my beloved Bulls, all I could feel is dread. His game is as sikkkkkkkk as ever. 6th man of the year. Playoff closer. Ice water in the veins. This guy wants it, and we have no way to stop him. I always wanted to see that guy hitting big shots in important playoff games in the United Center. Just not for the Atlanta Hawks. Lets hope Thibs has an answer. JAMAL already broke Derrick's ankle. I'm lighting candles at the local parish and bracing for the worst.
This thread is priceless. How long did we hope for Crawford to have a night like he did yesterday? And then he has it against the Bulls? Proof positive that God is a Celtics fan. I'm still calling bull shit on Atlanta. For every night light Jamal had yesterday, he has three nights where he goes 3-13. He was hitting tough shots yesterday with hands in his face. You can only pull off playing like a team that you're not for so long and then it catches up.
Nobody had a hand in his face, that's why he did so well. He was easily able to create space to get a clean look at the basket, no matter who we had on him.
Great Malcolm X reference there. FWIW, I wanted him to stay....as sixth man, along with Gordon and Hinrich. That would've been sikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
Jason Goff of THE SCORE reported today that his good sources say to not be suprised if both Jeff Foster and JAMAL are on the Bulls next season. Oh my!
Not sure how'd they'd pull that off, but that would be very interesting. It'd be interesting to see if Jamal could be an upgrade over Watson and actually run an offense.
Okay, you did not just put JAMAL and "run an offense" in the same sentence, did you? I'll be the voice of homerism/reason here. Joe Johnson hit 29.7% of his threes in the regular season. 29.7%! He went five for five on Monday. Jamal Crawford shot 42% from the field during the regular season. He went 8-16 and 2-4 from the three point line on Monday. The Hawks only have one or two scripts that will allow them to take a game against the Bulls, and both of them involve Joe Johnson or Jamal Crawford shooting a ridiculous percentage from the field. The Hawks are not going to win this series, and if they do, it will be because Joe Johnson has magically transformed into Michael Jordan. They'll win the championship, if that's true, but it's not.
Thats what I was saying. The Hawk WILL NOT shoot this hot for a 7 game series...JJ will not shoot 100% and Crawford will not shoot 50%, I refuse to believe they can keep up that hot shooting for an entire series. And werent those the only two that really won them the game? Nobody else was really impacting the game.
The kind of scary thing is that Horford and Smith are their two best players and didn't do much game one. The Bulls need Rose to play like his MVP self and not like a gimp and for Boozer/Noah/Gibson to own the paint. The rest of the guys need to play the solid, 100% Bulls team D we've grown accustomed to the ENTIRE GAME and to hit open shots.
I agree with your point about owning the paint. If the Bulls controlled the boards like they did in the regular season they would have won on Monday. Indiana was able to play the Bulls dead even on the boards in games 3 and 4, as the Hawks did in game 1. That can't continue if the Bulls want to win a championship.
I wonder if JAMAL is impressed now? Thank goodness, the candles appear to be working. I'll lite 2 more this weekend at the Sunday 8AM just to be safe. Kirk has the right idea. Hide on the bench from Derrick.
I like the candle theory Don't dis Kirk :-( He's not hiding. But I agree, he wouldn't be much help. The problem is the lack of interior defense for those guys. Derrick cut through them like butter. And when he's hitting that three -- yikes. Light a candle for anyone's soul trying to guard him.
