When is the last player whose endorsements exploded after four years in the league? Advertisers are going to be reluctant to spend money on him lest he get injured again. An example? Who doesn't cringe when Brandon Roy does a "Good Feet" commercial?

If GO takes a better deal elsewhere, then I'll be pissed at the Blazers until GO breaks down completely. However, if he bolts for less or equal money, then the full weight of my ire will be on Greg.

C'mon, Greg looks way too old for the target demographic that would buy those scooters.

Haha! Yeah, those are just painful. Something tells me that Goodfeet blew through a 4-year advertising budget to sign Roy to that deal, and are basically forced to use it, because considering Roy's issues, the last thing I'd put in my shoes are Good Feet inserts.

Homes, that ungratefully piece of shit label has been done before, look at Boozer, James, two of the most tasteless acts that are forgiven the moment the media moves on to another story.

The difference is those two actually produced, and one could argue they were underpaid for their production. We've invested in "someday".

Exactly... It's not like he dominated the league, made the all-star game and gave the fans in Portland someone they felt was untouchable. Leaving now when the Team tried everything in their power to bring him out, when the fans 100% supported him, even when he was considered a bust; would be a complete abandonment. Basically saying "Thanks Portland for spending millions on me, giving me 100% support; but I'm leaving town without giving you anything in return". That is bullshit!

Why won't the Blazers release the MRIs and the long form Radiologist reports?

I'd feel the same way, betrayed. But ultimately Greg has to do what's best for himself. He's a good kid who's body keeps failing him. I would guess he does feel some obligation to Portland but his agent has to try and do the negotiation dance for as much money as he can (so he's going to imply there are tons of teams that want him - and maybe there are) and I worry that there's just been so much disappointment during his time with Portland it's going to be tough to turn that into a positive.

Did you notice he was sitting on the bench at the Blazer play off games? I was encouraged by that, the team is still trying to keep him involved. Unfortunately the time I saw him the team was in a huddle and he was looking the other way staring off into space so take it for what it's worth - not much.:dunno:

The Blazers Medical Staff, Surgeons and Training Staff have a less than stellar record. For you to equally blame it all on Greg Oden is uninformed.

Fact of the matter, nobody knows what portion of blame for all this is due to Oden and what portion lies with the experts that were charged with fixing his injuries/imbalances.

The Blazers should never again draft players from tOSU, where Oden was injured, or UW, where Roy was injured. We simply can't trust the medical staffs at those two schools, based on the resent sample of Blazer players from those two schools, to produce balanced or uninjured players who can stay healthy in Portland. The Blazers should, however, draft any and all players from the U of Texas, because LMA was never injured there, and has been mostly healthy in the NBA, outside of the stent put in his heart at the end of his rookie year. Clearly the Longhorn medical staff fully prepared LMA to have his health survive the efforts of the absent-minded goofs that comprise the Blazer training and medical staffs. Why they couldn't do this for TJ Ford is of no concern, since he didn't play for the Blazers.

Are you serious?!?! You do know his first injury had nothing to do with our medical staff. The second injury had nothing to do with the staff as well. He came down hard on that knee. Seeing that injury; I doubt no form of preparation would have prevented that. So basically, the injuries are no one's fault. BUT!!!! Us fans, the team and anyone associated with the franchise supported him 100%. It would be disrespectful to bolt!

    YEP.
You have your opinion. I have mine. The job of the team staff is to proactively prepare for the stress of a physical game, and to deal well with the inevitable injuries that occur - no matter who is to "blame". I don't think the Blazers staff have done an excellent job on either account. Below world-class preparation and below world-class repair and rehab.

I have already posted my detailed thoughts on this. Obviously we disagree, by a lot.
Well, this is just a ridiculous concept. Fans don't own Oden. He isn't a slave. The Blazers didn't have to draft him. They didn't have pick up his options. It was their choice to continue to roll the dice on him. The idea that Oden owes you something because you sent him a fan letter and bought games tickets is all in your head. Oden can't be responsible for other people's crazy.

That's a load of shit 100%! It is a moral concept. Why do you use the term "Slave"? This goes with anything in life. He got paid millions to be injured. Leaving the team is a sign of immaturity and ungratefulness. This would be the same line as an employer keeping someone employed because they were going through some traumatic situation, then when that employee recovers; he says "Thanks but I am going to your competitor for less money just because the memory of work is too upsetting."

If you were the business owner you would want his head.

So yep, I feel he owes us! I feel he owes Allen! I think he owes himself! Him leaving is chicken shit and I would never have respect for him. I suspect you felt there was nothing wrong for Shaq to bolt on Orlando too? I think the franchise and fans show how much they appreciate it.
