Extend Oden to a 4 year 45 million contract (front loaded to make it work), Batum and Camby to Orlando for Howard and Arenas (using this as inticing Orlando to give us Howard).

Of course I would want Howard to agree to a sign and trade.

Yeah I know it's reaching, but it's better than Howard for Bynum straight up! LOL

Also, they would have Camby as a "cap relief" but able to play until Oden can recover from injury. Then once Oden gets healthy, they can trade Camby's expiring for another piece. Also, they would have a nice starting SF to build around too.

    Orlando would want LaMarcus Aldridge.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Of course. Otherwise Orlando is totally ripping us off.

Later, we can trade Wes Matthews for Chris Paul (but again...only if he will agree to re-sign with Portland).

Bynum for Howard makes a whole helluva lot more sense than Oden/Camby for Howard. End of discussion.

Um... Did you see the entire idea. It's not just Howard for Oden/Camby. It's taking on Arenas's terrible contract. Wow dude, you simply a trip man. Take a bit of someone's post and twist away buddy.

Psst... http://hoopshype.com/salaries/orlando.htm Look at how much Arenas is guaranteed and get back to me. Thanks for playing.

Oh much better!! The Blazers can have the two worst contracts in the NBA. Thanks for letting me play.

Gilbert Arenas and Dwight Howard's contracts add up to over $34M. Batum and Camby's contracts add up to almost 13M. To make the money work you are saying that they are going to front load Oden's contract up to 20M in the first year? That is not going to happen. Especially with all of the question marks on his health no one would want to spend that much on him. The money just doesn't work for this trade, nor do I think Orland would do it. They would tell us to put Aldridge in the deal or it isn't happening.

And sure, the idea of taking Gilbert's contract off of their hands is nice for them, you have to realize that they traded for him this year and understood his large contract. I think they legitimately want to have the guy on their team, but who knows really.
