Wasn't too into the NBA the last time it happened (and was too young to understand it).

-Are players allowed to enter the practice facility and meet with media?
-Specifically, what happens to GO who is rehabbing and will need the training staff (no matter how much they're maligned) to guide him?
-A few coaches visited LA last year in Dallas and worked with him on his game. Can that still happen this year, or are the coaches/players not allowed to interact?
-What happens to all the RG/PF/game/practice staff? I read that LA is shortening their payroll in anticipation of a lockout?
-What happens to the 2012 draft if the league is under lockout for the whole 2011-2012 season? Is the draft order going to be the same as this year?

I just remember these from last time:

If it's like the NFL lockout, there won't be any contact between the players and teams allowed, including trainers. The draft still happened in the NFL, because the draft isn't part of the CBA...however, the draftees couldn't be signed, because signings are part of the CBA.

I wasn't really following the details of the last NBA lockout, so this NFL lockout is the first that I've actually watched the proceedings.

Oh shit. So I wonder what Oden's gonna do. That's my biggest concern during all this. I suppose he can hire an outside trainer but that sounds a bit shady.

Yeah, my assumption is that if a lockout is in the offing, Oden will hire his own trainers and the Blazers' training staff will give some general information and guidelines to Oden/those trainers before the lockout is actually instituted. Then he'll carry on apart from the team.

Still a draft, because the draft is before the June 30th deadline. No contact between team and players, plain and simple.

So is there no contact between NFL team medical staff and players? Even team surgeons who performed operations on players?

I understand not having contact with coaches and employees of the owners, but having an injured player unable to commutate to his surgeon or doctors sounds dangerous.

So, I'm guessing there's no summer league?

Team doctors can have contact with players if they are currently on the IR or were on the IR at the conclusion of the season. Because there is no official designation for injured players in the NBA (beyond the injury report) I'm not sure if it will work the same way ...
