I've only seen a little of him, but I got to ask why. Sure he's tall, and can shoot decently. But what skills does he have? From the little i've seen he is inept at rebounding. (he only averaged 5 rpg in around 35 mins playing in a league where nobody boxes out) I think we're looking at one of the worst rebounders to ever play C in him even. Secondly does he have any defensive abilities? Is he really anything more then a poor mans JJ Redick at 7 feet tall. He isnt even known as an amazing shooter either, hes decent but why him? He just seems like a bad pick on paper to me, not to mention he is much to small in stature to play C. Meaning the raptors now have 3 PFs, who should all have time to show off their abilities in their young career and still no true center. It will be VERY ugly if they end up matching this guy up agaist bigger centers like Shaq.
Potential and has probably the most upside of anyone in the draft. Can develop into a player and Raptors have the time for the development. That's basically why.
He's a four, he said it in the interview last night. He said he would have troubles guarding threes and that his position is the 4.
I thought he was a center, so know what will they do with Bosh? Make him play center I guess? I don't really like Bargani to much myself and felt there were more proven players but he can create some matchup problems. Long range big men are starting to become useful now, just look how much success Dirk has made with that jumpshot.
I didn't think that he was the best pick for them and really they would be better off trading down but he should provide either a spark off the bench or maybe even a very viable option in a smallball offense if they move Bosh to C at times. His defense and rebounding will get better, but overall I think he's just a very solid player that they liked a lot.
Bosh is their franchise their franchise player shouldn't be "slid over" to another position. They might as well have gotten Tyrus Thomas but I guess Colangelo wants to turn Toronto into Phoenix.

I really think he can develop, and be a very good player.
i don't see him doing better than dirk.. he's raw.. and for some reason i don't see him fitting into the system.

Get real. and he's much more than a "decent" shooter. He can simply score the basketball. And about him not being able to defend other Cs, it's not too big of a deal. Most Centers in the nba are defensive players too. Here is a list of Centers who play on the blocks and score regularly:1. Shaq2. Yao3. Eddy CurryAnd you think a guy like Shaq wouldn't get doubled and tripled anyways? And honestly, who in this draft COULD defend anyone like shaq??
If Bargaini's offensive game is as good as the scouts say it is, then I think his adjustment to the NBA will be smoother, because we know how most Euro Leaguers have a tough time adjusting to the NBA's foul calling system, and to the defenses every night, so the kid better be able to score.
I still say they should have drafted Aldredge. They already have a pf snd a sf. And they drafted a another pf. Even though they made it work with Villanuevalast season. But this time they have 3 pf's and no real legitamate canter outta the 3.
Come guys, it's not like Rob Babcock was drafting this guy. If Bryan Colangelo saw something in him, and considering we are all judging him on limited footage, I think we should stop makin stuff up and speculating, and just wait and see

Very Bad pick in my eyes. They have a lot of problems at SG,more then anything else.

He's recently measured 7'1" 249 pounds. Great jump shooter, great first step, good post moves, good shotblocking....He's very critical of his game and has a good work ethic, his defense needs a lot of work just like Nowitzki's did coming out of Germany but his offensive game is there and he could be a big time scorer. Their are no 'big time' centers in the league...he will be fine. The game is becoming perimeter oriented and thats what Colengelo is doing in Toronto, you guys make too big of a deal over positions.
About Kmarts post, Brian Coangelo is very overrated. He isnt known to be an amazing draft day GM but very good at making deals through trades, so just because he drafts someone doesnt make them the next Dirk. And to BCB, your overrating him a lot. He is not a good post player at all, he has the stature of Tyson Chandler,he cant block shots either. He isnt even that amazing of a shooter. What was it 15 ppg in euroleague? how is that amazing. Like I said JJ Reddick or maybe even a rich mans Pittsnogle. But in no way deserving of 1st pick, espically on a team stacked at PF. All i have to say is,Bosh better be working hard on gaining some mass this offseason, or this team is going to look even worse.
