    Obviously we don't have the whole story but there is no mention of suspicious activity or anything that the passengers did to make people uncomfortable aside from looking like Muslims. This kind of prejudice embarrasses me as an American

    Just flew yesterday cross country. First commercial flight since last fall. No extra security measures at all being taken. I read this, because I caught a few people around me staring and whispering about a guy sitting in front of me. He was dressed "normal", but looked like one of those brown Taliban people. Kinda felt bad for him. Now had he been dressed in more traditional Muslim attire, I honestly think I might have given him an extra look. I have no beef with anybody of any nationality......... that said, in that setting, I don't think I would be able to help myself.

    What if you are trying to get kicked off a plane to make a point and are doing things that will obviously raise concern of travelers?

    It sucks that people are judged on apperance. religion, race or gender. But are passengers suppose to turn a blind eye to everything. If they are concerned, valid or not, should they just be quiet and keep their thought to themselves or report this to the appropriate people?

    I don't care what I sound like, if I think I may be harmed, rationale or irrarionale, I probably do something about it (notify someone). It sucks, but that is the reality of the world we live in. How the airline acts is a whole different issue.

    Obviously if people are doing something to try to get kicked off a plane, that's a different story than wearing traditional muslim dress. I haven't read that these individuals were doing anything to get kicked off the plane.

    They search old ladies and children (extra searches, btw, everybody has to go through a metal dectector) because the PC people and the PC politicians have made it impossible to profile the actual terrorists. So, we spend millions of dollars wasting everybody's time, so as not to hurt somebody's feelings. Meanwhile, actual terrorists (Christmas Day bomber, for example) make it onboard flights because they can't all be searched, because then we get lawsuits.

    So yes, I do know why grandmas and babies are being searched.

    I don't think you do. Though I imagine terrorists and violent people would thank you for thinking they'd never use old people or children to carry out violent plots under various tactics.

    PC is a word created by people who are upset they can't stereotype anymore without being called on their shit. Shocking, I know, to treat all humans like humans.
