Sports talk radio is all about repetition. When I was younger I wanted to be in sports radio so bad, but after interning at 910 THE FAN for about six months, I got tired of it. All they do is repeat the same shit over and over for three or four hours. It gets so boring.
Probably the nature of the beast, right? I'm guessing most poeple listen to talk radio in the car. Personally, I want to hear all the top stories on the way to work, which takes about 20 mins. If others want the same info and people are in and out of their car at different times, I would think it would have to be repetitive. Not just sports talk. Most talk radio I listen to is repetitive in nature.
This is so good, almost like you pulled tape on that show. Just need to through in some bs quad yeahs and that damn Friday song.. CIP shows that you could put a monkey behind a mic and still get good ratings if its sports talk.
I can't listen to Rome. The only Rome shows I can listen to are the ones when he has one of the better replacements - like the Sklar brothers or Jay Mohr. Berger might not be the greatest ever - but he is much easier to listen to than Rome.
I feel for those folks who tune in every day; losing a radio voice can be in a little way like losing a friend. That being said, this news couldn't impact me less. I listen to sports radio when there's a game on or when there's something important happening with a team I care about. Now, if OPB pulls Kristian Foden-Vencil off the air, then there's going to be a rumble!
