Unfortunately, Rondo being young doesn't change the fact that the rest of their core players - Allen, Pierce, Garnett - are declining. Rondo is a fine piece to build around, but other than him the Celtics youth is, at best, average. Big Baby is decent, and Jeff Green has been a big disappointment, but I will give him time to acclimate himself before I make a final decision on him.
Huh? Rondo is the one who broke down, not any of the "declining" guys. I guess you missed my point. Every year, lazy analysis of them has labeled them too old, then it ends up being a young guy who breaks down in the playoffs. Last year it was Grandpa Perkins, this year it was Grandpa Rondo.
