That explains some things from last summer. Although it sounds like he wants to come back to Portland next year. But a lock out could change things.

Although he is fun to watch he still does not have a good enough mid-range game for my taste. I like my SG's to be able to shoot off the dribble and create shots for themselves. Rudy struggles with that. Quite frankly so does Wes. But I would much rather keep Wes.

Say what you want about Roy. His ability to pull up and hit the mid range jumper is rare. And that is really sad. It used to be that most wing players could do it with ease.

Too bad there will be no summer league. It would be nice to see if Elliot Willimas has a future here. But I doubt shooting his his forte' either.

Rudy will probably go back to Europe. He hasn't done well here and he could probably make more money back in Spain.

Maybe Real Madrid might be intersted in a "Real" allstar . . . maybe Rudy can drag his buddy Broy with him to Spain? :D

In related news, the Trail Blazers "target" Kyrie Irving, Parallel Universe Healthy Greg Oden and 92-93 Michael Jordan. It doesn't matter if PA has to pay them a salary much higher than anyone else on the roster. He tried last summer and he couldn't make it. He's trying again.

Honestly, considering that they play fewer games per week and fewer games total, that might be a great idea for Brandon. Although, the style of team basketball they play over there probably favors a player like Rudy over a strictly ISO player like Brandon. :dunno:

Please go Rudy! I'm tired of seeing leads lost from your defense and you can't hit a 3 pointer anymore so you are pretty much useless.

How does a lockout affect the "you can't play for any other teams" aspect of an NBA contract? If there is no CBA--and further, if the union decertifies--does that give players freedom to play elsewhere?

They can play for who ever if there is a lockout. At least until the lockout ends and the new CBA is signed. Then they are under contract again.

I don't expect to see Rudy in the NBA again. Too bad. I loved him before that Ariza hit. The bottom line is that he hasn't worked hard enough on his game or his physique to make the improvements necessary to jump from the ACB to the NBA.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, Rudy.

Rudy will stay, but Brandon will somehow be moved.

Or The Choad will be replaced.

No way PA is going to waste any more time with damaged goods. He's foaming at the mouth for a title shot NOW!

This would be so awesome! Not just because of Rudy's antics last offseason, or his agents, or whatever. But, because he flat out sucks!

You need some shooters, but you also need players who stay busy helping others, off the box score.

Yet another player considered a good shooter loses his touch under Nate McMillan, and never regains it, even under subsequent coaches. Poor McMillan has the Evil Eye. He can't help it but when will we rid ourselve of this curse? 8 years when 2 is normal for a coach?

I mean seriously, the injury hex is well-known, but no one talks about the shooting hex. Webster, Sergio, Rudy, Bayless, Batum, all these guys were considered good offensive players till they were touched by the hand of McMillan. You don't recover, you limp along for the rest of your life, no matter which coach tries to help you later.
