BA team owners and the NBA Players Association don't appear to be on a good path with negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement. The players rejected a proposal from owners last week and ESPN tells why.

Sources told ESPN that owners wanted to implement a hard salary cap at a figure lower than the league's current cap, but not until the 2013-14 season.
The current salary cap is $58 million per team and then "a dollar-for-dollar luxury tax imposed for every dollar teams spend over the tax threshold of $70.3 million," ESPN reports.

Looks like Players Association executive director Billy Hunter and NBA commissioner David Stern have a long summer ahead.

Too many of these clowns making way too much money at the expense of fans . Basketball/sports can be much more fun
and better to watch if we have players that genuinely want to play for the love of the game . I think that will encourage fans
to go out more and spend more also . So much talent out there , guys who can play and probably won't get a chance . Too
many business men playing these days . I think the commish/league sees where they screwed up but its too late now , players
are spoiled .... Where on this planet is Pau Gasol worth 16 million a year ? kidding me ?
