I refuse to buy this. The market is becoming saturated didn't they just release Black Ops last year. If it's the same rehashed formula then I'm just going to stick with Battlefield 3.
Im getting pretty pissed off with COD...the PC Black Ops STILL is glitchy and they are already getting the next one going. Fucking Bullshit. Taking longer to develop a game and having the technology be 2 years old is WAY better for the consumer than, putting a rehashed version of the last game with a short amount of new development.
They do take 2 years to develop each game. Activision has two teams, Infinity Ward & Treyarch, to release a game every other year, so it's an annual thing. The problem is that IW fucking hates that Activision has raped the series and gave Treyarch their formula and engine, so they refused to let Treyarch use their latest engine from MW2. So Treyarch built the game off of the World at War engine and that's why it feels dated and less buttery than MW2. Now IW has completely disbanded (huge drama with this including lawsuits) and Activision has brought in Sledgehammer and another company to work with the shell of IW to create MW3. But this time it will have MW2's engine which will be an improvement over Blops. They could have made the perfect CoD game by just fixing the issues with MW2 like One Man Army, Danger Close, Commando, Tactical Insertion, the Nuke, and made the blast shield have the same effect as Flak Jacket in BlOps. I fucking loved MW2, but it was just too over the top and all the hackers and noobs with OMA & DC ruined it.
Good to know. MW2 was fucking great and then I played Black Ops at a friends house and I couldn't understand why the game felt older, uglier, choppier, just crappier all around. I'm still suspect if IW isn't working on it but maybe it turns out well if they're using the MW2 engine. Never bought Black Ops so I could certainly dole out the cash for MW3 if I hear/read that its a step up from MW2 (which is lightyears ahead of black ops IMO).
I still think BF3 will be better. BF2 was amazing and if they recapture that greatness, I think it could surpass the MW series. I enjoyed MW2, but it was obvious that the devs didn't care about the game once it went live. No fixes, no solution to the hackers or the major problems, and they pretty much pissed off the PC world by not having dedicated servers.
EA's age restriction's on playing online will always give the COD games a huge advantage over BF as far as popularity and sales.
Does Battlefield run at 60fps? That's the main reason why I keep going back to CoD. It's so smooth and the game play is fast. I like the quick twitch firefights. I've tried Killzone, Bad Company, Socom, and whatever else out there but none of them can top the pace and addictiveness that CoD brings to the table. I thought Brink would be special, but it seems like a messy lag fast with poor textures. It seems like nothing out there can beat CoD. The BF3 trailers look fuckin awesome, but those are PC clips. I don't think I want to go to PC gaming even though I have the rig to run it.
PC gaming > Consoles When it comes to FPS games. I like my console for sports games or other genres, but when it comes to a pure FPS like MW or BF3, I think the PC is unmatched. I like aiming with a mouse 10x more than with a controller.
What do you mean? A game's FPS is effected by how good your hardware is... If it is on console it is probably running at 100+ FPS. I've always found the BF series to be more exciting in the firefights. It is fast-paced, the explosions are epic, and the sounds are insane. Check it out when it's released.
Games only run as fast as they are coded on consoles. They are not like PCs. PCs dominate in FPS because of the extra RAM and GFX card capabilities. On PS3 & XBOX, most games are coded at 30FPS. The best and smoothest games run at 60FPS, like CoD & God of War. Many games like Killzone and Brink only run at 30FPS so when there is lag or when the framerate drops, it become almost unbearable as they dip below 20FPS. I'm thinking about getting BF3 on PC just because it looks so fuckin amazing. Maybe that will make me jump into the PC gaming realm.
I cant do PC Gaming for FPS... I realize it runs better yadda yadda yadda... I just cant get comfortable doing that. Just let me sit on my couch with a controller in my hand lol
I am soooooo buying this. I love MW2 way better than COD Black Ops. the only thing I love about Black Ops, or Treyarch is their "zombies". Other than that, I hate their multiplayer.
