What an unexpected thread. Great insight! Next, you'll tell us that the Blazers should have drafted Durant over Oden.

What an insightful thread. I didn't realize Coach Thibodeau was interested in coaching here. I thought he was happy at Boston and the Bulls gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. Coaching is an interesting position. I believe they get too much blame for loses and way too much credit for wins. How can guys like Mike Schuler, Sam Mitchell and Avery Johnson receive the Coach of the Year award and Jerry Sloan does not? You have to be in the right situation to make things work. I'm not sure if Nate is the guy to lead us to a title, but you can not knock him for what he has done for this team and all that it has been through. He has gotten the most out of least for years.

That's not your writing style. Is Mrs. HCP posting again?

I agree that Nate's reputation as a top defensive coach is fraudulent.

Apparently the point of the thread is so people will pay attention to you. IRRITATING. Maybe if you had something interesting or original to say everyone here wouldn't think SlyPokerDog is an idiot. CAPSLOCK.

I want to keep this thread alive long enough so it can be merged with the next insightful thread from the same poster about the same topic.

You guys are missing the point here. Thibodeau wouldn't be better than Nate here because he was an unproven assistant. In many threads people ask me to give them names of better candidates than Nate since I don't want Nate to coach here. Any assistant I name gets shpt down because they aren't proven. Thibodeau would have been horrible here according to the apologists.

The apologists are right that we should keep Nate forever rather than hire an unproven assistant. See, Nate was blessed to have never been a rookie head coach. He was an NBA head coach the day he was born.

I guess Thibodeau must have been taking defensive stupid pills when the Bulls played the Blazers on Feb. 7th this season. His defensive coaching managed to "hold" LaMarcus Aldridge to 42 points and Andre Miller to 27 points.
