Uh, that should be "Santa Claus", unless you were referring to the movie...which wouldn't really work in the context of your "witty" remark.

Like many others here, I'm totally ambivalent on Nate McMillan as coach going forward. He's gotten a lot out of the Blazers given some really crappy luck from an injury standpoint. I also think that he's been out-coached in the playoffs.

The reason your inane thread isn't getting any positive feedback isn't that you won't find many takers on the idea that McMillan needs to go, but rather that you don't include anything in the way of a thoughtful discussion starter. So, the Bulls play good defense against the Heat for one game and this is supposed to reflect on Nate McMillan's abilities with the Blazers. You're missing a few (any) key connections from a logic standpoint. Try making some points other than "Nate is a clown" and you might actually get some discussion.

Unless you really don't want any discussion, in which case the clown is you.

Thibodeau was a hot commodity well before he got a head coaching job in Chicago.

What current assistant is on the level that Thibodeau was at while being an assistant at Boston?

None. He was the only one, and since he is gone Nate is the best coach in the world available to the Blazers

As Tince said, Thibodeau was a HOT commodity. The year before he left Boston he was dubbed by the sports media the number one target for a head coaching position from the assistant coach pool. He was just waiting for the right situation.

We could fire him and hope:
    1) There is a better coach available
    2) We could identify him
    3) That coach would want to come to Portland

Certainly is a risk. Considering this roster won't be making it to the conference finals anytime soon, I could justify taking this risk, but I would fully expect the next coach to have a success rate closer to PJ and Mo Cheeks than Dunleavy and Rick

We'll will have Rick Carlisle in two years, don't worry! His wife is from the NW and he loves the Ptown crowd. By then Crash, Batum, Oden, LA and some no name star will be ready for a real offense and some plays that will get us into the finals. It'll be even better if he wins a ring or two with Dallas so we'll get better ref love when he does get here!
