Hermes França arrested for sexual assault, turns himself into Oregon City police

    França stands accused of sexually abusing a female minor at a jiu-jitsu academy in Clackamas, Ore., where he once taught. He turned himself into the Clackamas County Jail on Monday.

    França cut off training and flew to Oregon to turn himself in. Obviously he has withdrawn from his scheduled fight for MFC.

    Bad to worse--the victim was under the age of 14.

    The timing here is very odd.

    A local martial arts instructer was accused of molesting a kid, the story was front page news, and within 2 days - Franca gets accused as well.

    It's possible that Franca is guilty, and the first story gave the victim the courage to come forward......but it really makes me wonder. (maybe I'm too much of a cynic)

    This is the point where people with a grudge against him start coming out of the woodwork. A former trainer at one of the gyms in Florida Hermes worked at has come out to say he was thrown out of the gym for acting badly and hopes he goes to jail.
