We don't need another player that can't shoot. We have plenty of those already.

He looks slow. Also his shooting is a question mark. People are enamored with him because he's the best SG in a draft with no SGs. He looks like role-player material to me.

this is classic pre-draft BS we will keep hearing day after day about so and so team high on such and such player, so much stuff is thrown and hardly anything sticks, not worth wasting much time on

I don't know much about this guy, but I think it would be stupid to overlook anyone because we are "stacked" at shooting guard. The way I see it, our overall future at that position is very weak. I like Wes, but Rudy and Roy are both done imo. Wes could be a solid backup, but I think we need to look for a better longterm replacement at that position.

As long as he's NOT white! No more Euros or crackers! Oh what a waste of a pick Babbit was! People on here actually thought he was gonna get some run and help this team last year!

I still think Babbitt will be a solid situational player int he NBA. Maybe not for Portland, but someone

I think Babbit has a particular problem that I suspect is hard-wired into him. He had a real deer in the headlights, "the stage is too big" kind of look to him last year. Maybe time and getting comfortable with his teammates will ease that, but I always worry about guys who don't appear to be capable of dealing with the pressure.

I agree, I didn't think the problem with him was his ability to score. He was able to get open looks for himself. I saw the problem with him as entirely a confidence thing. If he can overcome that, then I think he can be a decent NBA player....

Our three players on the roster from last years draft had absolutely no impact on the season last year.

In fact I'm trying to figure out the last player drafted that is an impact player on the team. Batum? Has it been that long since a draft pick has helped the team?

Confidence can be acquired, talent can not.

Not that I'm implying Babbitt is talented...but I don't think you can judge him like this based on his rookie season. Come on...

Well ... I also question his talent/athleticism level ... I don't care what his measurables at the combine were, he plays way slower and less athletically than they suggested he could.
