Last year's draft was absolutely horrid. Anyone want to lay money down that Portland drafts a Euro small forward who won't be ready to come over to the states in the next 3 years?
If it really came down to a Roy vs. Cho thing when there is likely to be amnesty clause in the next CBA then Allen/Vulcan really are clueless.
So, totally absent any inside information about whether Cho's been doing a good job, has the respect of ownership and the players, what his involvement in the Wallace trade really was, etc., you're comfortable in saying that firing him is a mistake?
So Cho wasn't the right fit, and Pritchard wasn't the right fit? The obvious conclusion is that Paul Allen has no idea how to hire a GM.
I wonder if being a Global Mod of a Blazer forum qualifies me to be the next GM of the Blazers? I better send my resume to Larry.Miller@trailblazers.com
This just in from twitter: "Paul Allen wrote in "Idea Man" - released April 19 - that Rich Cho was part of "a leadership team that can get us back to the Finals."" Apparently he went from genius to moron in a month.
Hilarious. What changed so quickly? Via Twitter: blazersedge Paul Allen wrote in "Idea Man" - released April 19 - that Rich Cho was part of "a leadership team that can get us back to the Finals."

Apparently, they had trouble getting a quality GM to replace KP, as evidenced by Cho's short tenure. Why would it be any easier for them now?
[/facepalm] If it's not one thing (usually being Greg Oden) it's another. Can this fanbase get a break from all this drama?!

I agree. While I think the praise for Cho has been a bit over-the-top, my only two complaints about him were not having a back-up PG this season, and also not offering Oden an extension last summer. Perhaps Conley Sr. let the Blazers know that Oden will accept the Q.O.? Either that, or they really do feel insulted by not getting that extension, but will go to RFA is they don't have to deal with Cho. Another part of me thinks that Cho probably said screw it when he was overruled on Roy, and Roy then went on to help the Blazers win two games.
