There actually appear to be some decent Center prospects in this draft that could either be available at our 21 spot or further along in the draft or we could trade up for. Vucevic from USC looks interesting, and Jeremy Tyler is projected to go in the 2nd round, also Bismack's upward momentum has tapered off a a bit and 2 different mocks have him at 10 or 13 - certainly a tradeable spot to attain if we are interested

    Thoughts?

Tyler will likely go around or ahead of our pick when all is said and done. Vuvucic very well could too.

The problem with young center prospects is that EVERYBODY is looking for them. The good news about that is that overdrafting some of these kids will allow other, more talented players to slide.

I think any center drafted by the Blazers is a huge risk, and one that far down is an even greater risk. Project centers are not what this team needs

I like the idea of keep hoping for Oden, take what we can from Camby, find a FA center (like Pryzbilla) ans then concentrate on a backup PF in the draft.

I much prefer a project C taking up a roster spot than someone like Babbitt.

Buy a late 1st and pick up Keith Benson, he is raw, but very athletic...Worth a flyer on IMO....

we need a backup PF more than we need a center.

I'd like to see us SIGN a FA C to a toxic deal.

Nene, Gasol or DeAndre Jordan would all be HUGE pickups for us down low.

Allows Camby to stay fresher, Oden to come back slower, provides ample depth to trade Camby at the deadline, and will help continuity down low once he is or retires.

We can't. All we have is the MLE. Nene, Gasol, and Jordan are going to make more than the MLE regardless of what happens.

I kind of like the Vucevic kid from USC ... I'm not saying he's going to be a star, but he's skilled, he's big and could probably play next to LMA with his ability to play inside or out.

We certainly figured out how to 'sign' Milsap to a pretty sizable contract using only the MLE.

Nene I would agree w/, and wouldn't be shocked to see him get near-max $, but LAC and Memphis have $ concerns (1 cheap owner, 1 young roster w/ a lot of big deals either on the books or impending)...

To me, Jordan doesn't seem like an impossibility by any stretch.

No we didn't. Millsap was signed during the season where we had cap space. (Around ~10 million or so?)

Imaginary capspace allowed us to make offers to Turkoglu and Millsap before we settled on Miller.

There's not many in this draft. Kanter is by far and away the best center prospect in the draft. Lucas Nogueira would be nice to stash but he's A LONG way away from being ready to contribute.

I'd maybe ask Washington on the availability of (6'9" 275 lbs.) Kevin Seraphin.

    Kanter will be a PF.

Completely agree. Take either Jackson or Morris with the first pick.
