Well, he does have a decent track record. And the history with him, PA, and Adelman is intriguing. Only problem is, he's on contract for two more seasons.

I'd be perfectly happy with Allen hiring Petrie, but I can't help but think this will probably go off the rails in much the same way that it did the last time Allen squeezed him out.

Petrie wouldn't come back to work for Paul Allen on a dare.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
If Petrie were willing to come here, that would be a pretty strong hire.

And if the Blazers are willing to dispense with Cho so quickly, maybe they'll call it quits on McMillan's deal too...which I'd support if they could get Adelman.

Petrie and Adelman has been a fairly successful partnership.

I'd be thrilled to see the Blazers hire Petrie. Who knows, maybe the reason for the delay in starting a search is that the decision's already made and they just have to wait for Petrie, or someone else in a similar situation, to get out of a contract with their current team.

That could be what Paul Allen is thinking as well. If he is indeed pushing for a win-now attitude because of health issues, as has been rumored, going back to guys who were proven performers could be exactly what he's looking for.

Wow if we got both Adelman and Petrie, then I would be extremely excited. I think that combo has been very successful in Portland and Sacramento.

Man, that is like dating your x wife, I just can not see PA doing that. I do like the idea, but if I remember right, the reason Petrie was let go was that he would not fire a coach..was that Rick?

Petrie's a smart guy, a Princeton guy. I'm sure he's not about to go work for Paul Allen realizing how capricious the guy is.

Give it up Paul! You know just as much about basketball as you do football! NOTHING!

P.S. Patty Mills sucks giant balls!

So if I'm Petrie, i demand a fat long term contract.

And if Allen really wants Petrie, he gives it to him.

Boy... wouldn't it be funny if Petrie fucked over PA.

Paul: Hey Jeff, I know it's been a while but would you ever consider coming back to the Blazer?

Petrie: Sure, I'd consider it, but you'd have to get rid of Cho first.

Paul: Done. Let me make the call.

    *a few minutes later*

Paul: Okay, I called him up and fired him. Now how about coming back to the Blazers?

    Petrie: My answer is no.

Paul: But you said you'd consider it!

Petrie: I did consider it. My answer is no. Go buy yourself another tennis superstar.

I think it would be funnier if he said yes, came back, and built a dynasty here. Ok, maybe not funnier, but funner.

I see your problem here...the blazers called Jeff Petrie when they meant to call Geoff Petrie.

Do you have PapaG's permission to use that word? You could get into big trouble, you know.
