All of a sudden every time I go to my email accounts my AVG security finds this tracking cookie:

    "Found Tracking cookie.Atdmt";"C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\owner@atdmt[2].txt";"Moved to Virus Vault";"5/25/2011, 5:59:52 PM";"file";"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Windows Live\WLLoginProxy.exe"

Is this something I can remove completely or is it fine to just let AVG deal with it each time over and over?

It is just a tracking cookie... not a real threat... you can can block with browser settings... but honestly I wouldn't worry about it. There is some site you are visiting that is setting it... or more likely some type of ad on one of the sites you are visiting.
