    I'm hoping for 2 out these 4...

    Kenneth Faried
    Lucas Nogueira
    Norris Cole
    Keith Benson

I don't think we have the room for another 2 guard and I'd like to see what Elliot shows in the limited minutes he'll get next year.

You make a good point. I've seen Kyle Singler in quite a few games since he started at Duke and I don't think I've ever had a single moment where I said to myself, "this guy is going to be a really good NBA player." He'll probably end up a perfectly adequate reserve stretch 4 somewhere who is able to carve out 10-15 minutes a night on a team who needs such a player, but I really beleive he's going to be a poor man's Marvin Williams -- a really nice NCAA player but just a bucket full of "blah" as a pro.

I like Singleton as a defender, but the guy has the offensive game of Bo Outlaw or Mbah a Moute.

Pretty much where I have Singler pegged. Mike Dunleavy Jr. is his ceiling, IMO.

I wonder if Michael Dunigan would be worth a second round pick.

This guy has talent. I have no idea about his work ethic or attitude but he has good size and good skills. His motor may be a problem. If he is in shape he could be a decent back up PF. Somebody will draft him.

Edit: I just watched his video. He lost 43 punds since his freshman year at Oregon. Interesting prospect IMO

Bucket full of blah's are generally perfect 2nd round picks. I'm not sure what the big debate about Singler is about, really. He's being projected as an early 2nd in a weak draft, sounds about right to me. I dont think he'll be a star, but a heady reserve.

Somebody a couple of pages back asked where all the [hate] for Singler was coming from ... I guess I was mostly responding to that. I don't hate him, but I don't particularly want him either.

Yeah, I must have missed the big debate on Singler. I thought we were actually having a discussion to see where he fit in terms of being an NBA player and were bouncing some ideas around. I certainly don't think he'll ever be a primary scorer on even a decent team. If he's picked late-first or early-second and washes out of the NBA, it won't be a surprise to anyone, will it? I don't think it's a lock that he'll be a wash-out, though. He could find a contributing role on a team, given the right situation.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Sam Amick (SI) is reporting that Jackson dropped out of the NBA combine and a scheduled group work-out.

Is he hiding something, or does he have a "promise" from some team? A guy who is projected as no more than a late first round pick has no business ducking work-outs.

Apparently Jackson has a promise from BOS, but will likely be drafted before then.....

Also, Darius Morris is scheduled to be coming to POR for a workout at some point...

He has a promise from the team with the 25th pick, so he is canceling workouts? Who is advising him? Screw the promise, and try to get drafted higher and make more money by showing what you have in workouts.

Makes me think he's hiding an injury. Either that, or he needs to fire his agent.

Goudelock can straight up stroke it. I watched him play a couple times for C of C, but he's just really small.

That's what I've heard and it seems he is much more athletic and quick then many gave him credit for, could be a nice pick for a scoring guard (PG) off the bench. 6'2 - 6'3'' inches in shoes i believe - bout average for a PG no?

2011 NBA Draft Combine Shooting Drills Results

not sure if this deserves its own thread

anyhoo, very interesting, with the players knowing these results were going public, it was likely a high pressure drill, and holy crap andrew goudelock KILLED IT

some other standouts were marshawn brooks with 16/18 off the dribble jumpers, seems his mid range game is tight
