Are we in an alternate universe where staying with the team that drafted you makes you a traitor? Whaaa?
I wish I could search the Tribs records for how many times Wade worked out for Chicago leading up to the draft. I remember KC reporting that he was there like sixteen different times. If my memory serves, he was basically working out at the Berto Center every day. Chicago didn't trade up for him. Our loss. But we got Kirk Hinrich!
He could have signed here and been on an even stronger team with a legitimate shot to win the next 10 championships. But he opted for the team that would throw the victory parade in August instead of the one that only throws parades when you actually win titles. Did Isiah Thomas ever have a legitimate shot to be a bull? He's not from Chicago either, is he.
It's just that most of our leading scorers were traded away after we failed to advance in the playoffs. Consider that if we played Boston or Miami in the 2nd round, our season might be over now. Just speculating...
Boston, No. Miami, probably. But, regardless, I'm not buying your speculation. The Bulls earned their place in the conference finals by beating a Hawks team that polished off Orlando. That ain't easy. It was a tough, physical series and there's no reason to sell the team short. Just as I don't believe in moral victories in sports, there's no reason to put an asterisks on this playoff run.
Reinsdorf is a baseball guy. In baseball, the saying goes, "you can lose with your superstar or you can lose without him."
Other than BG, who? Can you name somebody who is playing better after they were let go by the bulls? Eight years later you might make a case for Jamal Crawford, but it took 8 years. And he isn't even a starter. What starter have the bulls let go?
Chandler's in the finals. He was also a lot better player when he became full time center for New Orleans.
It will be interesting to see if Chandler can be effective against Bosh. I think he can and that will be a big key to the series.
Dallas may be fine with a steady diet of outside shots from Bosh. LeBron's proven to be the guy that kills you.
Dallas is pretty good and Wade will have to bounce back from his slump, although I loved his defense. The series looks tough.
