I won the Settlers Of Catan Championship at Strategicon!

So excited! Three day event and I won the whole thing. Now I get an all expense paid trip to the national championship at GenCon in Indianapolis. If I win there, I go to Germany for the World Championship. I'm walking on air!

 

Thanks. It's a very fun and addictive board game. For the tournament this weekend, I played two games on Friday and finished 5th (in terms of the percentage of total points in the games that I scored). The top 8 from Friday and the top 8 from Saturday played yesterday. 4 games, 4 people each. The winners of each game, of which I was one, played each other for the championship and I won the fucker!

Congrats, Speed. It's insanely popular, it seems, among the 20-30 year olds I know., but I've never really gotten into that game.

Maybe it's because I'm in my 60s.

 

i played that game on the weekend, first time ive played boardgames in years - was actually pretty decent, we had one slow game which nearly killed me - but other than that it was all good
