GENEVA, Switzerland -- Radiation from cell phones can possibly cause cancer, according to the World Health Organization. The agency now lists mobile phone use in the same "carcinogenic hazard" category as lead, engine exhaust and chloroform.

Before its announcement Tuesday, WHO had assured consumers that no adverse health effects had been established.

A team of 31 scientists from 14 countries, including the United States, made the decision after reviewing peer-reviewed studies on cell phone safety. The team found enough evidence to categorize personal exposure as "possibly carcinogenic to humans."

Well duh, they've know this for years, only anti regulation nutjobs have ever opposed it as truth, same as the kooks who fought the cigarette/cancer facade to the bitter end

This is another inconclusive study. What with almost everyone & their dog owning a cell phone it's going to be harder and harder to filter out non-cell phone users from cell phone users.

Also a lot of things that they compared it to have immediate non-cancer risks. Carbon monoxide will suffocate you before it gives you cancer, lead will poison you before you get cancer. I guess you have to think about it in long-term low level doses, like for decades. Everyone is inhaling car exhaust every day...

That said, I do not talk on my phone a lot, but that's mainly because I am not very social. My girlfriend talks a lot on hers, but she's switched over to doing more texting. I wonder if more people texting on their phones might impact results as your phalanges might be less likely to be harmed by radio waves.
